Why can't yahoo return to the old page? I don't like this one.?
The new page is so unwelcome. Am I the only one? I have lost that loving feeling for any participation now. When did this happen?
3 AnswersMy Yahoo8 years agoSap on my container tomatoes?
I have 6 tomato plants in containers. They are near, yet, not underneath, my verbena bushes. For some reason the bushes are excreting sap, first time ever, and the tomatoes are covered. I am ready to dump the plants, but my husband disagrees. I am afraid they can't recover and produce. If I keep them, they will not be near the bushes. I also have many tomato plants in my greenhouse. Any advice?
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape8 years agoCan anyone tell me the difference between Mittleider Method and Spray-n-Grow?
I just started using the Mittleider Method, and I recently received a catalog from Spray-n-Grow and was very curious about their products. The concern for me is the fact that they spray the leaves on the plants, be it flowers or vegetables. I have a problem with that since that causes virus, etc. They claim to use natural ingredients, and have even included before and after photos, which are astounding. I would appreciate any feedback from gardeners out there. Thank you.

2 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop1 decade agoWhat makes a dog a scavenger?
We have a Boston Terrier and an Australian Shepard. The Boston concerns her Vet because she will eat most anything. She is fed twice a day, while the Aussie is fed once, yet he gets a dog biscuit in the morning on the deck while the Boston is eating her meal in the kitchen, and she can see him through the sliding door. Once she is finished, she can't wait to go outside to find his crumbs he may have left. She eats weeds and grass, which come up later in her bed or wherever.
Is there any kind of training we can do to change her eating habits? We haven't taken her to the coast, as yet, but one day we will and then we will really have to watch her and hope she doesn't try to eat dead fish on the beach. That is also a concern for her Vet, even a lake here is a concern.
Thanks for any advice you may have.
3 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHas anyone smothered their lawn with newspaper and mulch?
I have plans to rid my front lawn of all grass. I am nervous about it, as I have never done it before. I then intend to start a xeriscape yard, or close to. I would like to hear from anyone else that has attempted this, as well as completed it and just what you may have done to and experienced. Thank you.
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoMonkshood plant toxicity?
I recently planted an Aconitum plant, which is also known as Monkshood. While doing research on this plant online, I learned it is so toxic that it should never be handled without gloves. Not only that, but while removing your gloves, you can easily touch the toxin on the gloves and should always wash your hands thoroughly. Funny, but it doesn't state to wash your gloves because if it is so toxic, why would you use your gloves again to touch soil, let alone other plants? This plant is toxic to pets and children, so why would anyone want to plant this beautiful flowered plant? And why was I able to order this through a nursery? This plant is also on the endangered list and has been for many years, so why would we want to keep this in circulation? During A.D. in Rome, they used this to poison people. So, could someone explain why I should not dispense this plant of its entirety, along with the soil and maybe the planter it's in? Thank you!

Has anyone tried the lasagna method? If so, did it work well for you? Were your plants pretty healthy? And would you say the extra effort was worth it?
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoI have paid so much for a good anti-virus in the past several years, but I have yet to find a really reliable?
I have tried Symantec, AVG purchase and the free edition, as well as one more top leader, of which I cannot recall right now. None have kept up their bargain, and I have lost two computers. I have an old iMAC I am using right now, which is so old and slow, but it is so trustworthy. I would just like to hear from others what they feel is a good anti-virus and why. Thanks!
15 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoblight on a plant base made of lava rock?
I received a very unusual Hawaiian plant from my husband that grows out of a lava rock. You can either plant the lava rock in soil or leave as is. I chose to leave as is, but there is mold all over the lava rock. If I take a fungicide for plants to it with an old toothbrush, will that get rid of it? And which fungicide do I use for best results? Once I get rid of it, I will plant it in soil, so I do not experience this again.
