  • McCain supporters, are you OK with Palin undermining McCain's campaign to further her own career?

Bear in mind these aren't my thoughts, these are the thoughts of a McCain campaign aid.

Palin's 'going rogue,' McCain aide says (CNN)

... A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

  • Is teaching the "science" of intelligent design in public schools part of Palin's platform as a reformer?

She's on record saying that creationism and/or intelligent design should be taught in public schools. Does she also think that the "flat earth" concept should be taught as an "alternative hypothesis"?

  • Do you agree with McCain that we need to reinstate the draft if he is elected?

At a town hall in Las Cruces, NM, a woman said she could not see doing everything McCain wanted, and would not have the troops under his plan to follow Osama bin Laden to the “gates of hell” without a draft. In response, McCain said, “I don’t disagree with anything you said.”

A draft is the only way to do everything Senator McCain wants to do. Gotta give him credit for finally being honest about it.

  • When McCain says he's never been for privatizing Social Securty?

Even though he's on the record as supporting Bush's plan for privatization, is he lying, flip-flopping or just confused?

"But I'm not for quote privatizing Social Security, I never have been, I never will be."

    John McCain June 08

"as part of Social Security reform, I believe that private savings accounts are a part of it - along the lines of what President Bush proposed."

    John McCain March 08

"Without privatization, I don't see how you can possibly, over time, make sure that young Americans are able to receive Social Security benefits."

  • Is anyone else fed up with this Superdelgate nonsense?

Pledged delegates, superdelegates... I think it's a pile of crap. Today there's an AP article about how some of the superdelegates are more "super" than others, and able to appoint additional delegates on what looks like a whim. Whatever happened to the will of the people? The Rep's version, where it's winner-takes-all, makes much more sense. What do you think?

  • Do Hillary supporters really think their 2012 plan will work?

By torpedoing Obama's chances and insuring a McCain victory this fall, they think that Hillary will be able to waltz into the Presidency in 2012. Are they really that delusional? What makes them think that the Dems will vote for a candidate that intentionally undermined their party's chances in 2008?

  • Are these guys electable?

    Check out this quote:

"To be plain, I wish to get quit of Negroes."

    How about this guy?

" I advance it therefore as a suspicion only, that the blacks, whether originally a distinct race, or made distinct by time and circumstances, are inferior to the whites in endowments both of body and mind."

    Or this one..

"I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."

Anyone know the names of these obvious lifelong racists? Do you think that in today's day and age any of these guys would be electable after making such horrible comments, and would the country be any better because of it?

  • Why are conservatives suddenly rallying around John Sidney McCain III?

Sure, he's militaristic, but so was Mao, Castro, and Stalin. Once you get past his hawkishness, John Sidney McCain III is so moderate he barely qualifies as a Republican.

John Sidney McCain III is not a religous conservative Remember that "Agents of intolerance" quip?

John Sidney McCain III is soft on immigration.

John Sidney McCain III professes to be somewhat ignorant of economic issues.

What has John Sidney McCain III said or done in the last few months to change so many conservative's minds about him? Whatever happened to him being a RINO? Have conservatives become so blinded with hate of the left that they'll vote for anyone with an (R) after his name?

  • Why doesn't John McCain wear a flag pin?

As long as Obama's not wearing a flag pin is a legitimate concern, then it's only fair to question why McCain doesn't wear one either. Does this mean that McCain hates America, or is this yet another double standard attempt by the right?

  • Where can I find info on each Rep candidate's definition of victory in Iraq?

And also some info on their ideas for achieving that victory? I'm not asking for blueprints, but since they all want to stay in Iraq I'd hope they'd be able to define victory and have a plan to achieve that goal.

  • How is the obstructionist Republican Senate celebrating it's record breaking use of the filibuster?

On December 18th, The Republican Senate minority filibustered an omnibus budget bill, setting a modern-day record for blocking the most legislation during a congressional session. In just the first year of this two-year Congress, their use of the filibuster in the Senate topped the previous record, reached during the entire 107th Congress (also by the Republicans).

Way to go Republicans, thwarting the will of the majority! You must be soooo proud of yourselves.

  • Are we getting a preview of GOP tactics should Obama get the nomination?

Given Clinton's recent slide and Obama's recent surge, it looks to me like the GOP is in for a tough time since they were planning on a Clinton slam dunk. What would Alan Keyes have to say about playing the race card? Is the American public still gullible enough to think that all muslims are terrorists? Wouldn't we all be better off if we could concentrate on the candidate's positions on the major issues rather than all these red herrings?

  • Will the cons attack the American Conservative magazine with the same venom as they attacked Moveon?

The cover story on the upcoming issue of American Conservative magazine will paint an extremely unflattering picture of General Petraeus, branding him a "Sycophant Savior",

accusing him of telling the Administration of what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear, that he has broken faith with the troops, and that he has failed his country.

Will the republicans attack the magazine with the same fervor they had when they went after moveon.org over the "betray us" ad? Will they draft and approve legislation condemning the American Conservative?

  • Did you see the latest military poll? Only 35% approve of Bush's handling of the war?

Firstly, thanks to jeeper_peeper321 for finding the link to the poll.

Members of the military are evenly split over whether the Iraq war is a separate military operation, or part of the war on terror. They seem to think troop levels in Iraq are just about right, but we don't have nearly enough in Afghanistan. Another interesting tidbit: While a small majority believes Bush has thier best interests at heart, a clearer majority will take the military leadership over Bush's any day.

  • Does this remind you of anybody?

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.

He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to civil power.

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury:

For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses:

For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments:

In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

  • Why all the abortion talk now?

After all, the pro-life Republicans had complete control of 2 branches of the federal government for 6 years. Why didn't they strike while the iron was hot? Are they only interested in the abortion issue during election years? How many more times will the pro-life voters allow themselves to be played for suckers?

  • Why does Bush think its "his government"?

Regarding the no confidence vote for Gonzalez, Bush said:"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government,"

Last I checked, it was OUR government, not his. He works for us, ALL of us. Isn't he an arrogant little twit?
