  • If a defense attorney is given a murder weapon by the client accused of murder...?

What are the attorney's ethical obligations? Must he hand it over to police? What can he do with the weapon LEGALLY?

I live in Washington state (don't know if that matters) and need an answer to present to my class.

I have tried wikipedia and google to no avail. Any serious answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • What could this sea glass be from?

I found a piece of sea glass at Saltwater State Park in Des Moines, Washington. It has been low tide so I knew I would find some great sea glass. It is a clear piece of glass with a man raised on the glass, he has horns and a tail, like a devil or demon. It appears to be the bottom of a bottle. Under it are the letters U, T, and another partial letter that could be C,G, O, or Q.

You can see a picture of it at http://www.flickr.com/photos/39808818@N0...

    Thanks for all your help!

  • What's the best ghost story you have read?

Hi everyone! I want to know the best ghost story you have read. I have Haunted by Chuck Palahnuik on my TO READ list. Are there other great ghost reads out there? What about other scary subjects? You can recommend anything that will scare me to death. Ok, maybe not death, but maybe until I have to sleep with all the lights on. All answers will be deeply appreciated.

I have read alot of Stephen King's books, but you can always recommend them to me again if you would like.

If so, what book/author was it? Briefly describe your nightmare. Why would you or would you not recommend the book?

  • When I wake up, why does the outside of my ear hurt?

I am on a new medication that helps me sleep through the night. I sleep so soundly that I don't move much. When I wake up, my ear above the opening to my inner ear will be so sore and hurt so much. As soon as I switch positions or stop laying on it the pain subsides within a few minutes. Why is this happening? What can I do to help prevent this besides sleeping on my back. I am a side sleeper.

  • Why do authors struggle so much with character names?

I have never questioned an author about the names of the characters (with one exception--Rennessme? Ick.)

Why do people who write come on here to the B&A section and struggle with naming their characters? If you just give them names we will still read your stories. Why is it so hard?

  • What is the worst book you've read as far as the subject matter and gruesomeness or goriness?

I recently read Survivor by JF Gonzalez and it was bad. It is about a woman who is kidnapped to be raped and tortured and killed in a snuff film. I've made it through some f*ed up stuff in books but, it was deeply disturbing, I don't know how I even made it though this one. Morbid curiosity I suppose. My friend said Topping from Below by Laura Reese would be the worst book she ever tried to read. It is about sadomasichism, torture, degredation, and finally murder. She didn't make it through it. She stopped reading when it became too disgusting to continue. What is yours?

  • Your opinion counts when it comes to books. What should I read?

I am a thirty year old, mother, wife, and friend. I like books that are descriptive without being dull, allow me to use my imagination, keep me wanting to turn the page. I have 41 books on my must read list, but they are hard to find, I will take them as they come. In the mean time, I need something else to seek out. I enjoy mystery, suspense, sci-fi, fantasy, action thriller type, mostly fiction books. Gore doesn't bother me, nor does sex, or death. I do not care for romance, or inspirational stories, not that I would rule them out, I just don't seek them out.

I have read many Mary Higgins Clark, Patricia Cornwell, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Clive Barker books.

Yes I have read Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn, and what little of Midnight Sun is written. I read the jacket to The Host and it didn't sound interesting. I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books, I know they are probably much better than the movies, but I just haven't considered it. I might add them to the list.

  • Do you know this book?

It is about a man who has kidnapped a woman. He is holding her somewhere, in a basement, she is bound and he even has to help her go to the bathroom in a bucket. I think it is by Iris Johannson, but I could be wrong. I know there is a similar book by Nicci French. But I don't like her books. I'm pretty sure it was Iris something, or Christine something... LOL sorry for the crap description.

  • Can you recommend a book for me? I like these books...?

I have a wide variety of interests. I am 30 so please no books that are meant for teens. They ususally bore me but not always. A story has to capture my interest in the first 10 pages or forget it. I don't normally do romance, I have enough of that in my life. I like books with action, conflict, they can be set in the past or present or future.

    I have read:

    Lots of Dean Koonts

    Lots of Stephen King

    The Thornbirds

    The Memory Keeper's Daughter

    The Lovely Bones

Yes I have read the Twilight series

    The Witching Hour

    The Complete Book of Swords

    An Armory of Swords

    Good Omens

Too many to think of but these are my favorites.

  • What is with ACA haters?

When I tell people my Boxers are ACA registered they always say, "Oh," and stick thier noses up in the air. I just happened to fall in love with a Boxer whose father is AKC show dog and his mother was ACA beloved pet. I do all the health screening, pedigree research and everything that AKC does, just with ACA papers. And I have bred my Boxers to produce Boxers that fit the AKC and ABC standards of the breed. I know my dog will never be Best in Show, but I love him more than any other dog I have ever had. He is what the breed is supposed to be.
