  • Losing a fingernail after smashing it?

I smashed my finger really hard a few weeks ago. It is obvious that the nail is going to come off but I am wondering if it will require any action on my part. The nail is still attached at the edges where there was less trauma and nothing seems to be changing.

    Should I just wait?

    Thanks.

  • Does air pressure have a significant effect on the rate of evaporation?

I would think that it would be that higher pressure increases the rate of evaporation at a given temperature. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    thanks

  • What is "Clock speed" as related to computer RAM?

I am upgrading my memory. My original cards are 266MHz. Is it important that the upgrades have the same clock speed, or should I get something faster? Does it make a difference?

  • "Rich People Day"?

Why don't we have a day to recognize rich people? I realize that it is very P.C. to hate rich people's guts, but It just seems contrary to America's defining principles. I think rich people are awsome.

-Almost ALL tax revenue comes from the wealthy

-They employ people and drive the nation's economy

-They are able to give more to charity if they want

-They have really big houses and expensive cars that make our cities look good.

If you envy the wealthy, just decide to become one.

  • Do you care a hill of beans about celebrities?

They are like America's pets. You know you don't have a life if you refer to celebrities by only their first name.

  • Can a liberal be happy in life?

Apart from the fact that I have never met a happy lib, I just seems to me that it would be very depressing to wake up every morning with every one of the worlds problems hanging heavy on my heart, while I wait for sombody else to fix my own. I would go crazy. I just want to tell all you libs that the grass is greener on my side of the fence, and I would love It if you came over here!

But tell me if you are a happy liberal.

  • KAYAKERS, Is this any good?

The day after I bought my first kayak, an Oldtown Otter, I paddled 30 miles round trip on calm river. the trip took about 12 hours. I was good and tired by the end. I had very little paddling experience, and i was 18 at the time. just wondered if that is above average, or typical endurance.

  • Have you seen any of these places?

    1. A creek that can only be reached through a little hole in the bushes beside a winding dirt road that runs down into a small valley in some dry, red, chalky mountains. The icy creek runs down through the reddish rocks and emerges from the bushes into an area of larger boulders, about the size of trucks, and then continues down into the valley.

    2. There is a small town somewhere (possibly in California). Near the largest intersection in the town, there is a gravel road that runs into a very old, dark pine forest. The road is smooth and well built. It runs down through the forest and after a while the pine trees get smaller and thinner. The road gets narrower and the ground is a kind of grey chert. The road then ends and loops around a lake. The oval shaped lake is sunken into the landscape about thirty feet and the small scattered pines are growing all over its sloping banks.

I want to know if these are real places.

  • 1 QUESTION POLL (must answer if you open)?

Please answer only yes or no, and only if you accept the premise.

Premise: The earth is in a warming trend (great or small, caused by man or nature)

Question: do you believe that if the human race were to in effect "disappear" from the earth, would the warming trend stop.

  • Who has heard of "World Jump Day" to stop global warming?

This is not a joke. Some Scottish scientist thinks that if 600 million people all jump at a carefully calculated moment it will shift Earth's orbit slightly, thereby putting an end to global warming.

The whole idea reeks of the orgasmic excitement liberals get at the notion of the whole world working together and using our bodies to save the environment! Yay! let me explain to anyone still reading this what this sad person should have learned in 5th grade. This is like sitting in a car and pushing on the dashboard. even if all 6 billion people and all the elephants and heavy animals and rocks and mountains and heavy metal objects in the world were to jump at the same moment, the most we could do is make a huge mess. The absence of your weight on the ground while you are in the air is exactly canceled by the force exerted on the ground when you push off to jump and when you hit the ground again. Basic laws of motion!

What I want to know is how this guy got taken seriously.

  • Who thinks that personal safety laws are WRONG!?

The seat belt law and motercycle helmet laws are the best examples. I think that they are not only a pure violation of liberty, but a declaration of ownership by the government over your life. There is a big difference between this, and PUBLIC safety laws!

note: I wear my seat belt.
