  • Some questions for the teenagers and young adults here?

    This is a two-parter:

When did you start to date (assuming you are old enough to date)? Did you do it with your parents' permission or behind their backs? What made you believe you were old enough to start dating at that age?

How many of you actually DATE? By that I mean that you go out to social events or places in the community with your date, watch a movie, have dinner, go to an arcade, SOMETHING.... other than just "hanging out." I see that term here a lot. So I'm, not talking about seeing each other at the mall or in the halls at school, and I'm not talking about going over to each other's house. I personally don't consider those dates.

Thanks for the replies. Enquiring minds want to know!

  • How many partners saw these signs of cheating in their partners?

Great show on Oprah tonight (2/11). M. Gary Neuman was the guest and he did a study to find out why men cheat on their partners. A lot of what he had to say looked so similar to many of the questions people (especially women) ask in this section of YA. Here are the four signs that he stated are the signs that he is either cheating or getting ready to cheat. And he stated that men almost never tell their partners at any time if there was an affair. The signs are:

    1. he spends a lot more time away from home

    2. there is less sexual activity between the partners

    3. he avoids contact with the partner (e.g., won't answer her cell phone calls or shuts off his phone when he never did before)

    4. he becomes more critical of his partner

These look like common sense, but lots of people seem to overlook these obvious signs. Who saw these in their partners and either thought that he was cheating or tried to convince herself the signs meant nothing?

  • How much caffeine to you typically drink in a day?

I located a website that shows a large variety of drinks and how much caffeine each of these drinks contain (link below). Another webiste stated that consumption of over 400 mg. of caffeine daily contributes significantly to anxiety and panic disorders, possible depression and anger problems. Given the popularity of the energy drinks and energy shots, I'm curious how much caffeine different people consume in a typical day.
