the calm before the storm

My girlfriend and I have been separated for 3 months but have communicated briefly throughout the whole thing. She's been seeing another guy but has let me know she really misses me through texts and also through social media indirectly many times. She has also told my mom she thinks about me so much and she wished things were different. Recently she has been a little angry at me and stopped talking.

Anyway I was sleeping last night and I was dreaming i was in a building sleeping on a chair. My arms were crossed but I reached to the ground and my hand went straight into my Ex's. she sat up and asked why I was there and I asked if we could talk. I told her I loved her still and that I would never give up on her. She told me she loved me too and kissed me. We layed on the bed and hugged and I looked up to see people I recognized taking pictures. Then she said she had to go and said she would never let go of me and I woke up.

I have no prior experience of anything like this in my life .... Any help understanding what I experienced ?

So my ex texted me last night with a picture of a song that she said reminded her of me. I asked her why shes been trying to contact me and she said she was just trying to let me know that she thinks about me. I asked her if she was happy with her new man to which she ignored it and said "yeah im happy" but then gave me totally mixed signals especially when the subject of other girls was brought up. I confronted her about the online assault on fb and twitter and she declined doing it at which point i sent her pictures of the stuff I had seen her do. She said she didnt realize I had any feelings for her anymore and thats why she did that stuff. I told her that if she was happy then she should leave me alone. She claimed to want to be friends but we both know thats not possible. She also continued to bring up that she would just "leave me alone forever" if thats what I wanted or she could just go away for good. I could tell through her texts that it was just an excuse to get in contact with me as she has been trying through social media for a solid month now...

What is her deal? If she is happy and moving forward why does she insist on forcing herself on me?

Mind you she left me for a new guy 3 months ago after 4 years of serious dating .

My current thoughts are that her new relationship is growing stale and she misses my company. I thin shes getting sick of it and is starting to miss me but feels stuck.Any thoughts?

My ex whom I dated for 4 years very seriously left me for another guy in December. She asked that I respect her wishes and allow her to move on and I did. But in the last month she has tried contacting me and letting herself be known more and more. She constantly follows and unfollows my twitter account, likes facebook posts that Im tagged in and even favorites and unfavorites tweets I post. She constantly posts lyrics to the same songs I post and even posts "our songs". Recently she has called and texted me "accidentally" and seems like she tries to find reasons to talk to me. I am always very short with her and she is very short with me too usually.

The question is why is she doing this and also does she still want me? I love her more than anything and am totally willing to take her back though she doesnt know that. I miss her so much and I just know shes meant for me. My interpretations of the events is that she is starting to miss me. PLEASE someone help. This has been happening for so long and Im driving myself insane.

She texted me and told me what went wrong and even asked that I wait for her. She says she still loves me and wants to get married but shes still seeing this other kid and posting many pictures and happy posts on social media about him. Its been another week of no contact and I am very confused as to whether I should let my feelings go or hang on for her. Id do anything for her but I am not going to be stuck in that game forever. Any thoughts on if shell be back or not?
