How much should I expect to pay for a paint job?
I want to take a solid white '99 Monte Carlo and get it painted jet black. Will the fact that it's white now cause problems and thereby make painting it black more expensive? How much should it cost?
I live in Austin, TX if location makes any difference.
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat was "Classical" period music called in it's day?
The term "Classical" was not used for Western European type orchestral music until the twentieth century. How would people like Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven have refered to the kind of music they wrote in order to distinguish it from say, folk music.
The church music they wrote would have been called "Sacred" music, but what about the secular works; concerti, symphonies, chamber music, etc?
3 AnswersMusic1 decade agoHow do I keep my roommate from installing programs and unwittingly downloading stuff.?
My roommate is utterly computer illiterate and he continually downloads stuff onto my computer without even knowing it. He's the kind of person that when he sees a balloon that says "Click Here Now!!!" he really thinks it's important for him to do it.
I can't be here all the time but I don't want to cut him off of the computer altogether. Is there a way I can set up Windows XP so that the Administrator (me) is the only one who can add or remove programs? The computers at my job are like that. Is that solely a feature of the Professional version of Windows?
7 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoIs there a way to tell what programs are using a particular file?
I sometimes have trouble deleting, moving, or renaming certain files, usually video, sometimes audio. I get a message saying:
"Cannot move [name of file]: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."
I've closed all programs running on the computer. I've used the Task Manager to end all processes except the bare essentials and I keep getting the same message. People always tell me to restart the computer in "safe mode", but that's a lot to go through just to delete, move, or reanme a file and even then it sometimes doesn't work. In that case I justy have to keep trying day after day and eventually it will let me do it.
How can I tell which specific program it is that is "using" a particular file? There has to be some way to see what is using it.
8 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoCan someone tell me where to find this version of Macbeth?
This was my introduction to Shakespeare when I was about eight years old. I remember it was an operatic portrayal and I think it was in Itallian. It may have been Verdi's opera. In any case it was shown on a PBS station around 1981. Can anyone tell me where to find this on video or DVD?
1 AnswerTheater & Acting1 decade agoWhat do these musical notes mean?
What is the meaning of these notes that look like half notes but are linked at the top with flags like eighth notes? There are four of them to a measure in common time. This is from Beethovens "Moonlight" Sonata, 3rd movement.
