4 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoNeed help with a Gujarati lunch menu including Puran Poli?
I want to plan a special lunch for a relatives birthday. All items should be vegetarian and he loves Puran Poli so I would like to include that in the menu. Please suggest which items you think would be good for subji(vegetable entree), dal, snack(samosa, khandvi roll etc), etc. I'm looking for a complicated menu. I love cooking but I'm not always sure which things go well together.

Does anyone have a recipe or know the proper spelling so that I could find a recipe. This sweet is somewhat dark brown in color and is traditionally made during the winter season. Thanks!

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat is your favorite homemade sweet or snack for Diwali/New Year (especially interested in Gujaratis)?
I am trying to figure out which snacks I should make when people come to visit. Usually I make Gujiya(Rava), Sukhra Para, something that looks like paaper w/ spices on it (sorry I don't know the name) and sometimes chukri or banana chips. What can you suggest? Sorry if the spellings are off. I am an American and only write what I hear:-)

I already know how to make curd but I want to make this thicker version. I would like a detailed recipe. What type of milk to use cow/buffalo/toned etc? What type of vessel you usually make it in? How long will it take to set? Do you keep it in a thermos or wrap it in anyway etc?
