I'm new to graphic cards but have ran into this free-to-play FPS called Hawken that requires a card for the best performance and high graphic settings. I notice that most of the NVidia cards have many ports, I'm guessing HDMI and VGA.. So basically I want to know the non-internal methods of installation that would allow me to connect one of these cards without opening up my laptop or desktop computer.
I know that most if not all computers now a days have an HDMI port, so do I just need an HDMI cable to get hooked up ?

basically, the desktop computer will do all the data processing of the pc game, but I would like to play it on a network connected laptop by transferring the desktop's display (or duplicating it) to the laptop wirelessly. This sounds like it would be simple to do since I would only be transferring desktop monitor color or video data to the laptop monitor. Can this be done?
