Sasha's Mommy
34 years old, happily married for 14 years, daughter born in 2007, previous stay at home mom now returning to the work force
Do you think the daycare should have kicked my daughter out?
My daughter is 3 years old and has gone through a biting stage. We have been working with her and she has improved. Friday she bit a little girl one time on the playground. The little girl cried and the teacher came over to take care of the situation. The children returned upstairs to their classroom. The teacher was called downstairs to meet with a parent and another teacher came to stay with the children. After about 10 minutes the regular teacher returned. A few minutes later the teacher started getting the children ready to go home. The child who was bitten by my daughter didn't have her shoes on and the teacher started to help her put them on and discovered at that time the little girl now had 5 bites on her leg. The director was notified and she immediately called me to come pick up my daughter and said my daughter was terminated from daycare for biting 5 times. It was automatically assumed my daughter was responsible for the other bites too even though:
Neither teacher who was with the children in the classroom saw anything happen and they both say it must have happened when the other teacher was in there
The little girl didn't cry out or tattle
None of the other 3 and 4 year olds saw it and tattled
When my daughter was asked about biting this little girl she only talks about the incident on the playground
AND I found out this little girl has a history of biting herself!
However, the assumption was still made that the additional bites were from my daughter and she was terminated based on assumptions. What's your opinion? Do you think there was enough evidence to show that my daughter is guilty of the additional bites? Thanks in advance for your feedback!
9 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoPeople who have quit smoking.....what worked for you?
I have only been smoking for 4 years or so (am currently age 35). My dad's recent health issues have really given me even more incentive to quit. I tried quitting cold turkey and failed miserably! Would love to hear from anyone who has been successful in quitting smoking and find out what worked for you. (I have also tried the nicorette gum and it gives me the hiccups everytime I chew a piece, lol) Thanks in advance!
10 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoAny suggestions on breaking my daughter from her night time bottle?
I began a terrible habit many moons ago of allowing my daughter (now 22 months old) to go to bed with a milk bottle. I realize that this is a no-no, lol, so now I have the hard task of breaking her from it. It has become her source of comfort to soothe herself to sleep. It's the only time she takes a bottle. She's been drinking from a sippie cup for some time. I not only want to break her from the bottle, but also from needing a drink to go to bed with since potty training is in her near future. Anyone else who made this mistake with their child and might have some advice on how to break this habit? Thanks in advance for your help!
11 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoAnyone have any job hunting suggestions?
I am currently unemployed and desperately seeking a job. I am signed up with our local Employment Office. I have also signed up with every temporary agency in town. I look in the newspaper each day for available jobs that I would qualify to apply for. Does anyone have some additional suggestions of things I can do to seek employment?
One of the temporary agencies was calling me regularly for different temporary assignments, but their business has slowed as well and they haven't had anything for me in almost 2 weeks. I really want to work (and NEED to work). I am not without skills. I worked in a clerical setting for years with jobs ranging from secretary to human resource administrator to office manager. Through my willingness to take any job available, I also now have some warehouse experience (shipping, receiving, inventory, etc.). The only condition to finding employment is that it has to be daytime work, something I can do while my daughter is in daycare.
So does anyone have additional suggestions of what else I can do to search for employment or am I already doing all I can?
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoWhat information is provided on a Florida death certificate?
I am doing some genealogy research for my husband. I have been unable to find any family names or information prior to his great grandfather. However, I can order his great grandfather's death certificate from the state of Florida for a fee and was just wondering what kind of information is provided on these certificates. Will the names of his great grandfather's parents be listed?
Thanks for your help!
