  • One domain and SSL certificate serving multiple protocols?

I'm wondering whether, if I got an SSL certificate for a domain 'example.com' whether that would cover HTTPS (as in example.com over port 443), XMPP ("Jabber", as in example.com over port 5223), or even IMAPS / POP3 (ports 993 / 995) and so on?

The web address https://example.com/ would be encrypted as expected when using an SSL certificate. But, could the SSL also be applied to username@example.com for the XMPP/Jabber protocol? Equally to the mail protocols?
