  • Rent math (personal fees and such)?

So my buddies have asked me to help them with an issue with rent they've been having.

One of them has to pay a pet rent sort of thing, and the other doesn't want to help pay for it.

Rent is about 1,000 dollars a month- including the pet fee (30 dollars).

How would they go about it so that one of them doesn't have to pay for the other's pet, but the rest of the rent is paid 50/50?

One of them thinks they should subtract 30 from the 1000 total, and then divide by two.

    (1000-30)/2)=970/2=$485 for person w/o pet

    $515 for person with pet.

The other thinks that they should divide by 2, and subtract 30 from one half, and add 30 to the other.

    (1000/2)-30)+(1000/2)+30)

    470 for person w/o pet

    530 for person w/ pet

  • I feel like giving up on trying to get my ferret to eat healthier, should I even bother trying to change her diet?

I ve been trying to wean my ferret off of Marshalls. I ve read all over the place that ferrets shouldn t touch the stuff. She s not having it. And I ve spent more money than I was willing to on finding a healthier option that she d eat. No matter how I prepare the food, she won t eat it. I ve tried mixing, but she just moves the new stuff out of the way and eats the old stuff. I ve tried crushing both new and old foods, hydrating, and mixing them- but I ve practically got to hold her down for her to even consider touching it. I ve done that, *and* added furovite to the mix (most she ll do is lick it unless I hold her in front of it).

Is it worth all of the stress it s causing her and me?

Would it make me a bad person to give up and just feed her food that I know is garbage for her?

  • Is dry food important for ferrets?

After a certain age is gets more difficult to switch them to dry food. But do you have to? Would it be okay to keep them on a wet diet (using water to soften their food)?

Or is that not good for their health?

I'm just wondering because my ferret eats pretty fast, and I think that she's had to throw up because she was choking once.

I thought that maybe if I added some water to her food, she'd be less likely to choke.

  • College to dig up dinosaur fossils?

I m currently working on becoming a paleontologist. Ever since I can remember, I ve wanted to dig up dinosaur bones.

However, it doesn t really make too much sense to me that I have to go to college to know how to dig up bones.

Do I have to be a paleontologist to dig up fossils? Or is there a way I can avoid wasting more money on schooling and just get right into fossil digs?

  • What kind of doctor do I have to see about a depression screening?

I've tried using the search engines, and all they say is "you should talk to your doctor".

And that's simply not specific enough for me, unless that's as specific as it gets.

  • How would the world be different today if men disappeared off the face of the Earth 200 years ago? (And women found a way to reproduce)?

What would politics be like? Religion? Science? Art?

Would the world be pretty much the same? Or would it be completely different? Or maybe somewhere in the middle of both extremes?

  • Reptile Expo in Taylor, MI; questions?

Do most of the vendors allow debit/credit card payments, or would I have to pay cash?

I've heard the expo is kind of small. How many vendors typically show up?

The website makes the claim of having the largest variety of reptiles in Michigan. What kind of animals should I expect, other than snakes and lizards?

Is it worth going to, even if I don't buy anything?

  • Lizard w/ calcium deficiency issue: Solution?

A friend of mine has a leopard gecko that hasn't been getting nearly enough calcium. And it's having a hard time catching crickets lately. And my friend is having a hard time injecting food into the lizard's mouth (the thing just won't open it's mouth the way he needs it to).

Would it be okay to put calcium powder in the water and let the lizard drink it that way? Or is that something that should be avoided?

Is there a way to avoid using crickets and force feeding, and still get the calcium needed?

Trying to make a character with black hair, and it s way too shiny. And the other option that sort of seemed like it was going to be black turned out to be a blondish brown color.

Is there a way tog get rid of the shininess of the black hair on PS4?

  • Computer issues.. cant connect to proxy and everythings messed up?

So for the last week my computer has been having a hard time connecting to "the proxy server". My internet isn't as speedy as it used to be. In fact, I'm lucky if YouTube gets me about four seconds before not working anymore.

Im connected the the network, and its all five bars. But my internet is horrendous. I can't connect to the iTunes store (even though I'm connected to the internet).

Xbox Live and PSN work just fine. Both are not connected to the internet right now.

Is there anyway to fix this? I've tried restarting the WiFi and that doesn't work.

If this is of any importance, I'm using Windows 8.

  • Who owns the Godzilla movie rights? Legendary or Warner Brothers?

I've looked all over the place, and I've been trying to figure this out for quite some time now.. But who the hell owns the rights to Godzilla? Obviously, Toho owns the property, but who has the rights at this current point in time? I'd like a source too, but that's optional.

  • My first paragraph to a story, is it okay?

-I've been trying to get into the habit of taking my writing more seriously, so I ask that you be as critical as possible when you critique this. I'd also appreciate suggestions, not in where to take the story, but what I can do to this paragraph to make it better. Thank you for your time.

The room was dark and she was alone. She laid there quietly, thinking if this was worth it. To kill a man for little more than ten thousand dollars, a politician no less. What would be the outcome? What happens if she pulls the trigger tomorrow? Could she do it? The man, whose fate is in question, had promised change. Was it for the better? Would it make things worse? Was the future worth a measly ten thousand dollars? Even more, could the man bring about change? Could the man bring change the way that she and her decisions brought about change? Bloodied hands do change the future, well, that’s what her brother had said.

  • Legal question, regarding names?

Can you legally change your last name to your significant other's last name, even if you are not married? I'd rather not answer questions such as "why don't you want to marry her" or whatever, please just answer this question.

    Thank you.

  • I hate myself so much for it, but I'm writing 3 stories out right now.. Which one should I start with?

Now, it's hard enough to writing one book, but three? No way, not at the same time anyways. I'm torn between the three equally. All of them deal with death in some way or another.

    Right now I have:

War Machine: This is a story surrounding four different people's perspectives who are Operators of Mechs. Two of them are team mates, one is a smuggler, and the other is a kid commander of a large machine. The story switches between perspectives, and it's more about dealing with their situation than actual combat. The two team mates have to deal with the loss of their friends and families, the smuggler is forced to work for one of the major military forces after being caught, and the other is well.. trying to find his identity, he's tired of all the conformity that is required to live in any of the nations he risks his life for.

Monster: This is the story of a serial killer. When he was younger, his friend committed suicide, and he lives for nine years with that sort of guilt. He then sort of loses it. He thinks he can be forgiven if he can get rid of the people that make others feel worthless enough to kill themselves.

Purgatory: During a bank robbery, a criminal man is shot to death. He awakens in Purgatory. He has been selected to participate in a gladiator match that will determine his fate. If he loses, he goes to hell. If he wins, he can choose between heaven, oblivion, or rebirth. While in Purgatory, he cannot die, nor can he kill. However, when the gladiator duels begin, they are transported to a labyrinth that hides many traps, weapons, armor, and even monsters, where they must fight for three hours, or simply survive. They do this every day for a week until all but one contestant is alive, or all of them are dead. After each round, the survivors are transported back to Purgatory, where they can rest for a day in their own room. During the night, there are messages on the wall that are called "People who you give a sh*t about that are dead now", which can be turned off at any time should the contestant turn the setting off.

I don't know which one I should stick with for now. I've got too many things going on, and I feel like I can only handle one of these right now. But I can't decide which one sounds more interesting to me.

Which one sounds more interesting to you?
