  • So what is Chivas lineup going to look like for the Apertura2015?

They got rid of a lot of players, some who were starts or regular subs.

    - Michel

    - Toledo

    - Arce

    - Aldo

    - Gio

    - Alvarez

just to name a few. For now they only brought 3 players, Cota a goalkeeper, Edwin and Alanis who both play defense. So that leaves the mid soft of broken. Up front there's Bravo/Fierro.

  • Thoughts on Rafa Marquez Lugo retiring?

    https://twitter.com/rafaelmrquezlu1

Not sure if anyone asked this but man I feel bad for Lugo. He was doing good with Chivas but sadly the injury got the best of him. This guy actually felt the colors of Chivas, left everything on the field.

    Grande Marquez Lugo.

Hopefully he is able to recover from is injury and still be part of Chivas, Assistant coach maybe.

  • Any Americanista worried America won't make the liguilla?

Honestly, I have my doubts if America will reach the liguilla. The way they are playing is just awful. Even under Turko, America gave better results. They didn't play spectacular but they gave results. Aside from not winning Clasicos, Turko's team at least didn't let other other teams score 4 goals+ on them.

6th place with 20 pts, Gallos with 20 pts but keep in mind they are on a streak as they had 5 pts back in week 8. America's next game is against Chivas, a must win game. Not just because it's a Clasico, but because it can keep them in liguilla zone. Before you guys say it's only a 3 pt difference between 1st and 6th, let me remind you at this stage of the liga these last 9 pts are vital. America can't afford any more losses, especially by large margins. with 15/15 and a difference of 0, that can also play a role if America enters the last week with pts tied between the last liguilla positions.

Last 3 games are against Chivas, Toluca and Atlas. Chivas is playing much better than America, they will have homefield advantage. Omar Bravo is scoring goals, Chivas defense is finally being solid. Then there's Toluca who I honestly haven't seen their games, but they will still be a tough team.

Man so many changes that haven't impressed in my opinion. Matosas was never all that great to begin with. Won 2 titles with Leon, that's it.

  • Thoughts on Piojo's call ups so far?

All of the Europeos except for Vela/Aquino were called. Vela for injury and Aquino for "bajo nivel".

Honestly Piojo loves contradicting himself. He said he'd call players who are doing good but then the list shows players who are out of form.

    - Raul Jimenez, hardly plays and as of late hasn't made the bench.

    - Chicharito, again hardly plays and if he does it's like 5-10 mins.

    - Diego Reyes, is he still playing? He's been so lost in Europe.

    - Ochoa, well he had some playing time in Copa del Rey.

    - Rafa Marquez, why keep calling an old player. Piojo should be thinking about the future not calling up players like Marquez who are close to retiring.

  • Does it annoy you that the UDN commentators call America, El Ferrari?

Honestly, it annoys me a lot. Typical Televisa and UDN hyping the team and making them look "agrandados".

You don't see Spain calling Real Madrid, El Bugatti. What's next, Chivas being called El BMW.

  • Raul Jimenez not even on the bench today. Thoughts?

No surprise to me. He's been erased from the team for quite a while. He can't do much right now. Yea there's the whole "Hechale mas ganas" but let's face it, Cholo decides in the end. Jimenez simply isn't cutting it. There's a rumor I heard that Jimenez might return to Mexico in the next transfer season because he wants minutes. Jimenez had plenty of opportunities and he didn't take advantage. It was already hard enough to compete with Mandzukic. Torres in the bench doesn't do Jimenez any favors.

What's worse is guys like Leiton Jimenez defender for Veracruz, Aldo De Nigris forward for Chivas all have more goals than Jimenez. Aldo a guy who was erased at times has more goals than Jimenez.

Honestly, leaving to Europe was a huge mistake. He left too early and didn't wait for more offers.

  • So Miguel Herrera puts Layun's call up in doubt. Thoughts?

Piojo contradicts himself when he says that. If he isn't calling Layun because his level dropped then that's absurd. The competition is more competitive in the Championship League. Layun even said it himself, over there the style of play is more rough. Fouls that aren't fouls and are called in Mexico would not be called in that league. The pace is much faster in the league Layun plays, and there's more pressuring.

Look at Jimenez, Ochoa, Chicha, Reyes, Gio, they haven't played as much, yet he still calls them. He said it himself, those who aren't having minutes and are not in form will not be called up.

The only players who deserve a call up based on minutes played and consistancy are Hector Herrera, Jona Dos Santos, Andres Guardado, and Jesus Tecatito Corona. Those 4 are having a great season, the others are either erased from the team or rarely play.

Coincidence in the LigaMX final or could we see a repeat of the Clausura 2013?

I think America can win IF Turko doesn't do his usual late subs, defensive ones, puts toda la carne al asador because as time passes, America will become desperate for a goal. Not only that, America needs to prevent Tigres from scoring. Get an early goal, make Tigres come out of their area, and counterattack. The key to America scoring is for Tigres to leave their zone. Tuca will go and park the bus since he knows he win the title by just defending 90 more mins.

  • Paul Aguilar separated from America's 1st team squad, thoughts?

    http://www.espn.com.mx/news/story/_/id/2247572/agu...

There was a version that said Aguilar came drunk to the training, but that was false. I don't what caused Aguilar and Turko to get heated up, but something big must have happened in order for Aguilar to get very mad at Turko.

In my opinion this is a huge loss for America. He's been a vital piece in the defense and his offensive game.

  • Liga MX referees going on strike, week 16 might not be played. Thoughts?

So pretty much the Liga MX refs are going on strike because they want to be treated better and are fed up with Justino Compean. They won't stop until they get what they want. Today is a crucial day because if Compean does not give a reply that the refs want then the strike will continue.

  • Do you think Simeone is not being fair with Jimenez?

I get that he wants Jimenez to improve, but how is Jimenez going to improve if he isn't giving him playing time. I'd put Jimenez in the Liga games and as sub for Champions. It can be Mandzukic/Jimenez up front, Turan, Koke, Suarez and Griezzman in the midfield.

There's a strong rumor that Raul Jimenez could be sent to Getafe or Tenerife. Right now Atletico is looking to buy a new player, and that player is Douglas Coutinho, a forward.

  • Should Herrera still call up Oribe Peralta?

Don't get me wrong, Peralta still has a couple years left, but to me his time with El Tri is over. If Mexico really wants to improve and become a powerhouse like Germany or Spain then they have to start from the bottom. From now until Russia 2018, Herrera can call up the young talent and work with them until the next World Cup. This will form chemistry among the squad and the coach will have a solid line up.

If you look at past coaches and processes they all just call up random players. There is no chemistry, no solid line up, and most of all some are past there prime. I would start with the Copa Oro. Have an ideal line up, call up the players the coach wants, and from here until then just make minor adjustments. I remember during the WCQ, Vuce called up his guys, Chepo his guys, Tena his guys, and Herrera his guys. That's why El Tri doesn't do good. So many changes, not enough time to adapt. Personally I wouldn't include Peralta for the qualifiers. Some people complain how the younger talent doesn't get playing time with El Tri, but here I know most will bash because Peralta is the best league forward right now. Yea, he's the league's best forward RIGHT NOW, but 4 years from now he won't be. That's why it's important for Herrera to form a solid squad.

These would be my ideal players for the next world Cup as possible starters.

    - Ochoa, Hirving Lozano, Carlos Fierro, Poncho Gonzales, Luis Montes, Jurgen Damm

  • Raul Jimenez to Getafe or Rayo Vallecano, thoughts?

So pretty much Jimenez could be loaned out to those two clubs so that he can adapt and improve. He'll be loaned out until the end of the season and could leave during the winter transfer. This move would only happen if Jimenez doesn't step up and score. He can give 8 assists but if he can't score then he'll be loaned out.

    http://www.web.telered.mx/ante-la-falta-de-gol-rau...

IMO, Jimenez was all hype. In El Tri he didn't really impress. Idk, his playing style is mainly staying up front and utilizing his height to score. Unlike Chicha who uses his positioning and speed to his advantage, Jimenez doesn't really catch my attention. Don't take it wrong Americanistas, he's ok, but that's about it. I'm not doubting him, he has potential, and as he spends more time in Atleti he'll be improving.

  • How much more until the FMF applies a much stricter rule towards celebrations?

Last night Rodrigo Millar scored and gave Atlas the win, but at the cost of a red card. First Millar gets a yellow, they he takes off his shirt and gets a second yellow after scoring. If the players know that it's against the rules to take off the shirt, then why do it in the first place. It was a very irresponsible play.

I was having a brief debate with Univision's, Pablo Ramirez. He said, and I quote, ".y el festejo implica forzosamente quitarse la camiseta ?? Tu ves expulsiones asi en Neymar, chicharito, van persie?".

I think the FMF should remove that rule since everyone has the right to celebrate a goal in any way they want. It's a natural reaction to score and celebrate. Celebrate a goal, but with respect. One shouldn't pull a Marco Fabian type celebration where he does a finger gun pose or shoot at the fans celebration.

  • Carlos Vela could return to El Tri by obligation, thoughts?

If you guys have been keeping up with the Frank Ribery case, you'll know that Plattini does not like the idea of Ribery refusing to play with the France NT. Plattini decided that if Ribery refuses to go with the NT then he'd get 3 or so league games suspension, maybe more if he declines each time. This could not only affect Ribery but every player that declines a NT call up.

If Herrera does call Vela in the next call up and Vela refuses, then he'll be suspended for x amount of Real Sociedad games. I doubt Vela wants to lose his form just because he doesn't want to go to El Tri. I like the actions Plattini is doing because I've always believed that if a NT coach calls someone up then it should be an honor to represent the country. Now anyone can decline whenever they want.

Now Miguel Herrera says he won't obligate Vela to return, but I doubt he'll keep his words. When Herrera finds out the new rule FIFA is implementing deep down he'll want to bring back Vela. That would force Vela to make a choice, club playing time or suspension.

  • Diego Gustanvino leaves Quereto so that Ronaldinho could come to Queretaro.?

Anyone feel bad for him. Diego was told he would be the one to leave the team. The part that makes it so messed up is that the transfer market if any is almost closed. This would mean Diego would be left without a team. How sad isn't it, that he has to leave, and not have a job until the winter transfer market. He could try the MLS but at this point I doubt anyone will sign him.

  • Raul Jimenez starting with Atletico Madrid in his La Liga debut.?

Up front it will be Griezzman, Mandzukic and Jimenez. I was a bit surprised he is starting seeing as how the other Raul scored on RM on Friday, and because Jimenez barely arrived to Atleti.

  • Has the Liga MX season been all that great so far?

With six weeks already gone by, at least in my opinion it has been pretty average. Club wise I'd say there is not one team that has shown to be the league's top. Sure America is in first place, but they haven't won in a convincing fashion. They have been effective in team errors, but to say they dominated every game is a bit biased. Leon has been pretty poor this season, losses to UDG, America and Tigres. It's the way they've lost that makes those losses reflect poorly on their record. The biggest surprise has to be Veracruz. They have only scored 2 times and only received two goals. They reflect that with 1 win, 3 scoreless ties and one less for a tenth place position. One would think Veracruz would be in the bottom places but just 3 pts from being in the mid spots of liguilla shows that the team has its good points.

I'm not going to talk about Chivas or Cruz Azul because they are not even worth mentioning due to their bad results. They are the so called one of the "Big 4" but it's just media making the team look bigger than what it really is.

Scoring wise, it's been fairly decent. America has a couple players with 2 goals or more, Dorlan Pabon is making Liga MX look weak just like Jackson Martinez is doing with Porto. Already 7 goals and it's not even the season yet. At the pace he's going he might reach the 15 goal mark midway in the season.

  • Does it bother you that Liga MX directivos overprice their players when a European teams wants to buy them?

Look at Fabian, Stuttgart wanted him, but Vergara said the offer was too low. Jimenez the same, the offer was too low. European teams offer a reasonable price. Jimenez isn't Ibrahimovic so why should a team pay like 20 million for Jimenez when in reality he should be worth like 7 million at least, same for Fabian. Vergara said Stuttgart offered 10 million, but Vergara said no, it was too low.

Then we have Leon who said if Chivas wanted Gullit/Montes they will pay 11 million for each or 22 million total.
