I test-drove a 2001 Jetta 2.0L 4 cylider with a 5-speed manual transmission today. The car is turning about 2,800 RPM @ 65 MPH. Is this normal? Other than that, the car runs well. It just seems a little high to me, or I thought that maybe the tach is off a little bit.

I have heard that some manufacturers will not honor the factory powertrain warranty for the full term (in the case of Toyota, 60 months/60,000 miles) if the vehicle was used as a rental vehicle. Does this apply to Toyotas? I looked through a Toyota warranty and maintenance booklet, but I could not find any reference to it. I'm thinking about buying a Corolla with 36,xxx miles that was used as a rental vehicle, and would like to know if the remaining powertrain warranty will transfer to me, or if the warranty has been voided. I live in South Carolina, and I realize that the laws may change from state to state, but I was wondering... Due to some financial problems I had several years ago, I had a couple of money judgments against me in SC, which became 10-year liens against the property (house) I owned at the time (also in SC). Unfortunately, I lost the property to foreclosure a few years later. I'm assuming that the judgments will become liens on any other real estate I purchase within their 10-year limits. Is that generally correct? I appreciate answers from anyone with knowledge of judgment liens. Thanks.

I've searched everywhere, online and in my text book, and can't seem to find a definition for "diminished scale" for my ART 101 class. I'm guessing it means a smaller copy of something. Anybody familiar with this term? I appreciate any knowledgable answers, and I'll gladly reward best answer.
