I know a lot of black people braid all of their hair in a million tiny braids because it will grow that way. But I've always wondered what they do when their hair starts to grow out? Is the top of their braids fuzzy because of regrowth or what? Do they have to take out all of their braids and re braid them every month or so? If that's the case, why no just get dreadlocks?

My friend said weight loss is all about the numbers so if I eat 1000 calories of vegetables, and she has 1000 calories of ice cream, it doesn't matter because if we use less calories than what we eat, we'll both lose weight. I don't want to trust this but if weight loss is really all about the calories, then wouldn't this actually work? I keep telling her it does matter what you eat just as much as how much but I don't actually have a solid argument. Anybody know? Is weight loss all about the numbers or does it matter what you eat just as much?

I go to an art school and I've noticed a lot of girls with weird short hair by the back of their necks when they wear their hair up because they shaved it. Why do people do this?!? I understand shaving a section on the side of your head, but why would you shave the bottom/back of your head? It doesn't make any sense- it doesn't look good fresh or grown out, and no one can even see it. Where did this idea come from and why would anyone do it?

I know you're supposed to use sea salt, but I don't have any. I found two morton salts in my pantry and one says iodized and one does not. I know it's the iodine in regular salt that makes sea salt better, so is it safe to use the one that doesn't say iodized for a salt soak? I was going to put in my 2g but when I tried, my ears started hurting and I left my 4g's back in and I've been doing massages with bio oil. Any other suggestions would be helpful and appreciated! I bought up to a 00g and I want to do this as quickly as safely possible

I am cleaning out my Itunes and I'm getting very tired of all of the crap I have. My favorite bands are Paramore, The Cure, No Doubt, The Used, My Chemical Romance, Kill Hannah, Alice in Videoland, MGMT, Lady Gaga, Vampire Weekend, Panic at the Disco, Cute is What We Aim For. Stuff like that. I like alternative mostly but I'm open to other stuff as well. Just no rap country and NO CHRISTAN ROCK.

I started gauging my ears in early December and I currently have 10g's in my ears. When I first put them in, they hurt a lot and started bleeding a little. I know that they're not supposed to bleed but my friend who has 5/8ths told me not to worry. I started cleaning them with ear piercing solution I got from claires when I got my cartilage pierced last year and it seemed to help a bit. They have since stopped bleeding and I've had the 10s in for about two weeks. I tried to put my 8g tapers in last night but they will not go in! I don't want to push them through and start bleeding again but I don't know how to get them to go in! Please help because I plan on going to at least 2g! Any suggestions?

I recently dyed my hair bright red like Hayley Willams' and after two washes it's already starting to fade. I got it done at a salon and I used to have bleach blonde hair. I have been washing only every other day with cold water and I have been using Loreal color protecting shampoo and conditioner. It seems that the ends of my hair are more faded than the roots. I also straighten my hair. What can I do? Is it just because it's red dye? or Does the straightening have to do with the rapid loss of color? Please help! Can you recommend a better shampoo for red heads?

I have some sprays but my friend recommended I try a creme. Do you know a good quality cream that i can use after I shower (at night) and leave in, until the morning when I straighten my hair?

My little sister is obsessed with him and i have no idea why. he isn't even that cute!
