She is a close friend and I have no clue....whatsoever...on what should I give her on her 18th birthday next week. It will be a huge celebration (Great Gatsby inspired event). Anyways, all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My dad bought this laptop back in 2008. Today, Windows 7 is the OS. My dad would always have this reformatted...usually every 3 years...but just recently...every year. Is it really necessary to have this reformatted because backing up my files is hard work. He really can't understand what a "personal" computer (PC duh) is meant to be. I have saved a lot of files recently, downloaded some pics and programs, I even have a music editing software here which I installed just last month. I mean....it really is hard work. Why cant we just buy a new PC instead to conform to the new wave of laptops necessary for a sure progress in our school and homeworks, office, leisure, etc? If you think I'm still naive then it's fine...as long as you're going to tell me politely. Just give me good reason why it is necessary to reformat a 5-year old laptop (aside from the fact that newer laptops are much expensive)?

You know octave chords? Any bands like Foo Fighters, Weezer, and Asian Kung-fu Generation that harmonize two octave chords to make it sound awesome?

My crush is a shy girl. Although she has friends, there are times when she is outside of their circle. I was able to talk to her, plus she gave some hints about her feelings for me.

Anyways, I'm thinking of getting her attention (I'm a shy guy btw and I'm not the type of guy who starts something most of the time, unless with my trustees) by faking a wrong send on facebook. What do you think?

*This might be a good time to take since next week is the start of a new term in college and everyone's block will be irregular...which means I won't be seeing her that much anymore

Aside from love...

There's this girl i first met 3 months ago. She's that of a plain type, cute, and unlike most girls, she does't talk too much (except with her friends). Most of the time, she is quiet (the type of person who doesn't start a conversation with you unless it has something to do about school).

We had this activity in school about "write your first impressions about the person you're writing to on his/her back". Then she asked me (talked to me for the first time) if she could write on my back then I told her yes then I did the same to her. From that moment, we talked to each other...something like "hi", "are you done with your assignment", "can I borrow your template", "can you help me with this?", etc. We do this almost everyday we meet.

When she talks to all the guys, but me, they talk about things not only for school, but also for some things I'm not used to..that includes my friend...who also has a crush on her (they had personal conversations together).

I also caught her looking at me many times. I act like I didn't notice, but when I tried to look at her back she turns her head away. Especially while the whole class is inside a theater for rehearsals, we turned off almost all of the lights, then I look at her only to find out that she's looking back at me (more than 3 secs of eye contact) then turning her head away then looking back at me again.

One time, she asked me If she could borrow my isometric oblong template. She said that if its ok if she could borrow the smaller one. She thought I have two iso templates, one big and the other small, but then she realized that the smaller one is just an illustration of the template which is a part of the general instructions on how to use it. She laughed then I followed. Then minutes later, when she was done, I overheard her telling someone to return this template to me (probably she was too busy...). Then somebody approached me and returned my template.

Something like The Pillows, Asian Kung-fu Generation, Beat Crusaders, Shonen Knife, Number Girl, Ellegarden, Boowy?

It's about an asocial japanese girl who moved to California, having doubts that her life there will take a good turn unlike back at home. She listens to The Pillows, AKG, Beat Crusaders, Shonen Knife, and The Clash and she plays the guitar by randomly strumming open strings. There she met some musically inclined people each having different personalities and soon they become close friends. They share almost the same music interest and decided to form a band after high school. They were able to form a band during college and released their indie debut album. They toured around the west coast to promote their release and soon they become a big hit. They recorded more albums and toured overseas and that's when a rift appeared among them. Soon they seriously mind their emerging differences and disbanded the band afterwards. They met 2 years later and reunited to release their final album because they still have to mind about other things. So they held their last concert and said their proper goodbyes to each other. The japanese girl learned a lot from her friends and started to live as a solo artist. So...this story is all about doing some stuff and move on to the next.....blah blah.. I don't want to add more details, but I hope you get the story's point. I don't know if Beck could be the closest series to this plot....well I want your honest opinions.
