  • Anybody any experience of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension?

I've recently been diagnosed and just was interested if anyone has any personal or close relative/friend experinces to share. It used to be called Benign Intracranial Hypertension. A condition when the intracranial pressure is raised due to excess CSF and no cause is found when the others are ruled out with Ct scan etc.

    Genuine respondants only please. (uk)

  • My daughter has just turned 7 and is having mood changes. Could it be a hormone surge?

I know the puberty changes start way earlier than physical signs so just wondering if she's having hormonal changes that might explain it. She has thrown her first ever tantrum, crying, stomping off to her room etc. Other than that she is more emotional and sensitive. No other changes to her life though and on the whole still a happy confident child. Anyone with any experiences?

  • My friend has Cervical Spondylosis and it is affecting her mobility, bladder control etc.?

Has anyone tried anytreatments that have helped even if only temporary. SHe is currently taking opiates for pain and is severely immobile and worsening rapidly. She was diagnosed by a specialist (NHS), but they have not set up any support services for her and despite her GP chasing the specialist, still no follow-up in 15 months. Anyone who has had experience please say what has helped you. Thanks.

  • Abnormal cells from smear test and referred to Colposcopy clinic. ANy experiences to share?

My friend is worried as she's just had her smear test results back saying she has abnormal cells and she's being referred to the Colposcopy clinic at her local NHS hospital. I have no personal experinece and am interested if anyone has anything helpful to share. Firstly this is the first time she's had this result and no other gynae history. She's 38, currently not sexually active or past couple of years and has no children.

I have reinforced how important it is to go to the clinic and get things checked out and that it doesn't mean cancer necessarily just changes in the cells. To be on the safe side let them have a look and take more biopsies if necessary. SHe has been told should have an appointment in a couple of weeks. Is this fast for the NHS suggesting more concern or routine timing?

  • Will be having surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Syndrome, any experiences to share anyone?

Waiting to have it under local anaesthetic. If anyone has had this or any experiences would be interested to hear. Does it take all the pain and numbness away? How long until you can use that wrist properly again?
