Why do people post non-programming related question here?
is this not the programming and design section?
I come here because I like to solve coding problems. Most of the posts here are about stupid things like where do i find a new paint program?
do this many people actually not know what programming is?
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agohow does gearing effect output torque?
I not an engineer, i'm a computer guy...
i'm interested in computer controlled machiens, and don't know much about this, i've read on servos, and stepper motors, i understand that stuff.
The problem is, the motors that i saw are too large to fit(physically) in a place, where i need that amount of torque.
if I where to use something like a worm gear, or a small system of gears to gear down, would that increase the torque applyed at the output of the system from a lower torque motor(that is physically smaller)? and how numerically?(if they exist, i need equasions)
