Registry perks - what and when?
I registered at Target and BabiesRUs, and curious do they just email stuff after your due date. I got the welcome email, coupons, etc, but was wondering what the coupons might be they send you after, and how soon after - or if I need to update something when the baby is here.
Still have a few things I need to get, not immediate newborn things - just would hold off if a good coupon is coming.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWho are these kids buckling their own boosters?
Ours are still in ones with the back. Unless its the mechanisms of our back seat belts, not giving any give, we always have to re-thread the top. Is this our car, seats - or making the kids keep their big puffy mittens on?
14 AnswersParenting1 decade agoNew baby - before or after Superbowl?
Due early Feb - If you could choose, and you cared about the game. Im kind of thinking after - even though my last drinking question made me wonder/and thirsty - but Ill be nursing anyway. Husband would like before - as is scared that it could be during, and the hospital has crappy TVs.
11 AnswersParenting1 decade agoAt what age could your kids mix drinks?
Just started watching MadMen - and yes - I do believe everything I see on TV - hence the premise of advertising or the show wouldn't be so popular.
7 AnswersParenting1 decade agoRegistries, stores and coupons?
Do stores still send you out a ton of coupons after your due date, for registry items that arent purchased? Im not one for anything like second showers, or expecting gifts, or to even publicize that we have a registry out there, I basically just want to get on the stores lists for the coupons. Its been 6 years, and 2 houses, and the baby gear could use some replacing and plan to do this ourselves.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoIs MSG common in chain restaurants?
Im pregnant, and getting really severe migraines after eating out. Its only been about once/twice a month, but starting to see a connection. Is it that common in most fried things, at chains, and not just particularly a certain cuisine, but noticing them with even a small portion with simply sharing appetizers of something fried.

They looked more like this -

Which Im thinking my get to make cookies for our holiday potluck. It would be a fun way to tell people you were pregnant.
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHow long is too long for chicken soaking in buttermilk?
Yesterday morning, I put chicken in buttermilk to soak until I was going to make it for dinner (its in the fridge) and forgot about it. Would it still be safe to make today? I know some marinades break meat too far down, so wasnt sure on the buttermilk? Could cook it up now, just would rather tonight.
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoOpening new account - incentives?
Moved after 15 years of using the same credit union - which isnt in my current location. Do banks these days offer any incentives for opening new checking accounts - remembering the old days of toasters. The websites Ive looked over havent given much info, and I rarely use checks anyway, just looking for a bank to cash the occasional check and use the ATM.
1 AnswerPersonal Finance1 decade agoDid you know this pulse thing shows your location and age?
Even if your main profiles are private. Just saw it this morning. Funny I was checking out "Marci Allen's" profile after her question on "privacy".

5 AnswersParenting1 decade agoHow long to keep a duvet around for?
Had it about 10 years, professionally cleaned every so often, but pretty flat. Just a medium quality Bed Bath and Beyond one. Has had different covers.
Been a better stickler on things like mattresses, but with the different covers, kind of neglected that maybe the duvet itself could use an upgrade - and not sure about them and dust mites either.
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWho in your family would you loan or give money to?
If they claimed to need it. Immediate family or extended? Maybe you can afford to, maybe you cant, or think you cant.
16 AnswersParenting1 decade agoDo you have retail health clinics?
In my former city they were everywhere -super handy for a Saturday strep test for $10-$50 with a NP, in Targets, Walgreens, etc. My new city doesnt - 2 hour miserable wait in an urgent care, do see a doc for 30 secs, and was really surprised on that inefficiency.
*and yes I know, you can wait out strep, or is that ear infections, and anti-biotic overuse, just an example here.
2 AnswersParenting1 decade agoWhile we're at it - doesn't it seem odd?
So men vs women, women vs men is both domestic violence I get that. Its illegal for Amber to take swats at Gary, or Gary at Amber (although that would involve of lot of exertion too) , or Leah to see this (thanks Zorro) but that in her fit of lethargic rage Amber could hit/spank Leah while "disciplining" her for not calming down in her sheetless crib.
Yes - I know they didnt show this, but I wouldnt put it past her.
7 AnswersParenting1 decade agoTemp tattoos - that aren't temporary?
The ones from Target - in the row near the checkouts, with all the crayola and art supplies - you know the one. They come in books of them. Just wont come off.
Besides scrubbing their face (of course) with an SOS pad - any ideas?
5 AnswersParenting1 decade agoSams,Costco, Schwans?
Do you belong or get certain items from them, or a kids favorite, or for good savings, or just to go for the brunch samples on Sat morning? Looking at different options and curious what has good prices or if there's a certain item thats so good that only they sell that you get. My husband is all over Scwanns ice cream, and I think we kept a previous Sams membership around just to get the spinach dip, bagel chips, and pita chips at a good price as our potluck staples.
15 AnswersParenting1 decade agoHow do you handle line-cutters?
At a fest this weekend, parents - some clueless, some not, clearly cut their kids into the front of the line for rides. One man - even called out his wife, and called her rude - that shouting match was interesting to watch.
Keep in mind the carnies did nothing (but lets not make this about them, I really didnt expect the carnies to step up here, granted there could have been much better organization to begin with in the ticket lines)
8 AnswersParenting1 decade agoPregnant women - does this concern you?
Ive been seeing a lot of overalls in magazines lately - even the Heidi Klum line at Pea in the Pod - seriously???? Thats a lot of effort.
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoIbuprofen and 2nd tri?
Did anyone else's doc recommend it for bad headaches/migraines? 3rd tri Im reading its spose to be the most dangerous, 1st tri next, but finding differing online data on 2nd tri. Mine did, so curious, if the tylenol isnt doing the trick.
