  • Can I wire Two relays together in series to increase voltage?

I put a little bit of thought into getting Contactors instead of SPDT relays but i like how compact the relays are. I was wondering if i got (x2) 24v 30a Single Pole Double Throw relays and wired them together in series, can i safely achieve the 48v 30a rating im looking for?

  • What size blocking diode do i need?

I'm trying to prevent my 48 Volt 26.7 Amp 1000 watt electric motor from acting like a generator by blocking the current going back to the battery... I'll later bypass this with a SPDT relay. I know there are calculators out there to measure this stuff, but I want to be sure that I get the right one. so check your math! :)

  • how des a wiper transmission crank arm work?

2000 chevy impala: the linkage after the motor/gears and before the 2 wiper arms. why is that tran crank arm spring loaded? especially considering that it cant swival around if there is nothing to push that pin out and away from the tran crank arm. i understand that the crank arm converts rotational movement from the worm/sun gear from within the pulse module box into linear motion. but once again, why is it springloaded if it has no way of expanding that 1/4"?

  • motorcycle flasher relay is clicking?

its off of a 81 cb650c. the relay itself has two prongs...all lights except for the rear left and right turn signals dont come on at all. i tried replacing the relay but i got a computerized replacement so i dont know if the problem is fixed. all i know is that i blew the fuse...which i can assume its a short in the wiring. also all wires are outputting 10.5 volts where they should be outputting 12v

i just bought an 81 honda cb650 custom, and when i took apart the carburator to change out the fuel line joint, i noticed a bit of green liquid seeping out. it smells like gas so it must be gas right? im assuming its just deposit build up or maybe the person that sold it to me ran carburator cleaner through it....any thoughts?

  • Continuation of "Javascript Form Help"?

Im not sure who answered the initial question, but...not so smart. i only have 1000 characters to work with. if you copy the source save it as an html file and open it, you will see that there are buttons to click, and a text box to display the result-AUTOMATICALLY as the initial question says. i dont want the user to click on a calculate button.

    so to ellaborate even more.

the quantity will have to multiplyed by 1# or 2# in which $5 and $10 are its corresponding values, this number should automatically be updated in the total field. so.....

    Quantity*1# = Total

    OR

    Quantity*2# = Total

    where 1# and 2# = $5 and $10 repectively.

remember the total gets automatically updated without hitting the calculate button.

so the question is...whats the javascript that does all of this

  • bet you dont know javascript?

So i want to be able to update my website without having to constantly go in to the site and edit the source code/graphics. So i was thinking that i could use Javascript to be able to read the DATE on the users computer (or from a 3rd party source) that would update the files as needed.

the file that would currently have to be updated is just text..no graphics..yet.

I would have this little box on the top of the page with some text that says 'we are open from 8 to 6' and when the summer gets here it would say 'we are open from 7 to 10'

    any suggestions?

  • ***please help***?

I was given a dvd formated commercial that I am trying to convert to an .swf(flash movie) so i can play it on a website. Adobe premiere wouldnt open the dvd's .VOB file so i simply changed the extention to .mpg but when adobe premiere or windows media player opens that .mpg it only shows the first 35 sec on the first commercial and 10 seconds of the last commercial. (the total length should exceed 2.5min.).

I used an mpeg encoder program to convert it the right way as well, and im still getting the same thing---only 45 sec out of 150sec of footage. Is there a free program out there that can read this DVD the correct way to convert it to an mpeg/mpg
