project car is a 1970 opel GT car weighs 1900 lbs and this engine if I can get it to the rear wheels adds another 110 hp to the car over the 102 that is stock inline 4 cyl. A manual will work but an automatic would be better.

I have looked almost everywhere don't find it in the engine compartment, I cleaned the coils and all wiring and inspected, but it still shorts out and drops half my engine out at times until I stop turn key off and restart. I want to replace the transistor used to fire the coils out with a new but I need to make sure that it is not something else local (loose wire, corrosion etc) at the transistor end before changing out the transistor.

Please don't give me answers or solution I just need the location. The car has been electronic diagnosed and says the transistor has a short I want to check out this problem, I just need to make sure that it is nothing external to the package and if not then replace it.

building an Opel GT with 60 degree block V-6 from chevy. What year and type car or truck had a carburator and rear wheel drive with distributor no ECU models? Preferable the 3.4 but take what I can get but has to be 2.8, 3.1,or the 3.4 engine
