I'm a very eclectic person and have something to say on nearly every topic. But I always try to present a balanced view and I research my answers a lot. I go for quality, not quantity of answers! (Though my answers may get quite long at times, because I try to be as detailed as possible) I love helping people with pc related questions (especially pc security), because I would've loved to have that help myself before I had to learn the hard way =) I'm also good at finding free programs. If people need to get something done on their pc, chances are I'll know a free program that can do the job just as good or even better than many paid ones. I love reading pc magazines and blogs, so if anybody knows a good pc/tech blog please message me! Some of my other interests are philosophy, skating, snowboarding, reading and comedy.
Can you please give me some travel ideas for Europe in winter?
I'm thinking of travelling to Europe during winter next year. The idea is to show my girlfriend the traditional south German Xmas markets etc. I was thinking that apart from that we could also go to the Swiss alps or Austria to go snowboarding, and maybe do some stuff in Scandinavia..Asia is also an option on the way there or back, as we live in Australia so it's on the way.
Can anyone please give me some ideas of what else we could see/do? We're pretty open for any activities. For example any festivals or cool activities? (eg I read about trips with sled-dogs, skinny dipping in Norway)
Thanks heaps in advance for any suggestions!!

3 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoHow do you promote a discussion forum?
Hi all, I am a member of an Australian discussion forum, and we need more members. It is for general discussion, ranging from politics, international affairs and society over to food and entertainment. The forum is called Australian Opinion, here's the link: http://www.australianopinion.com/
How can I (and the owners of the site) go about promoting it?
2 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing1 decade agoWhich suburb in Venice is the best to stay in?
Me and my girlfriend will be staying in venice for two/three nights starting tomorrow, and neither of us know the suburbs very well (ie. which suburbs are good to stay in). Can anybody please give us some information? For example which suburbs are good for clubbing, where the best restaurants are, shopping, sightseeing etc... I know this info is all available online, but there's just too much to digest.
Thanks heaps in advance!

2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoHow do I stop microsoft word's EULA popping up everytime I open it?
I recently installed and activated a genuine copy of office 2003 student version on my laptop running vista home premium . The only problem is, every single time I open a document, Word asks me to agree to the EULA again. Why is it doing this and how do I stop it?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhich payment alternatives generally give the best exchange rate?
I'm an Australian planning my first trip to europe soon, and am wondering what form of payment will generally give me the best exchange rate. I know that exchanging at banks or bureau d'exchange will give me better rates than at hotels etc, but my real question is this:
If i change a $100 travellers cheque to euros at a bank, will i get a better or worse rate than if i withdraw $100 worth of euros using my credit/debit card? How about cash?
thanks in advance for any answers!
1 AnswerOther - Europe1 decade agoIs there a way to make firefox display several homepage tabs like IE?
I recently noticed that IE7 can be set to open several homepage tabs on startup, and now I am wondering if there is an extension or a tweak that allows firefox to do the same? I remember netscape 8 (their last attempt at a comeback) included this feature ages ago, surely firefox must be capable of this also?!

3 AnswersHausaufgabenhilfe1 decade agoWhat sort of Laptop would I be looking at to run these programs?
I am looking at purchasing a laptop for a friend, but I am not too familiar with laptops in general and the system requirements of the programs she wants to use. The programs are Illustrator, Photoshop, Turbocad and other programs she can use for fashion design...
As I am not too familiar with laptops, I am wondering whether a laptop will be able to handle those programs or if I should advise her to get a desktop pc instead..
Note: the budget is around AU$1000, that's why I was initially thinking desktop, to get more bang for her buck...
Thanks in advance for any answers!

3 AnswersDichtung1 decade agoCan anyone give me some tips about safe computing practices?
I have recently cleaned a mate's laptop from a nasty infection. I have now installed firefox, Mcafee siteadvisor and antispyware programs on it (ad-aware and spybot s&d for on demand scanning and avg antispyware free for realtime protection). But I suspect that he will keep getting infections every now and then because he is not too experienced in terms of the general stuff like not opening suspicious email attachments etc.
Now, can you please help me compile an exhaustive list of things to do and not to do when using the net and his laptop in general, so that it will be less likely he will get infected again? I don't have the time to come up with all the things, because I have a lot of work to do for uni...
Thanks a lot in advance!
4 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoCan anyone please help me with this passage from J. J. C. Smart's article "Sensations and brain Processes"?
I have a problem understanding a passage from an article which I am reading and I would be very thankful if somebody could help me understand it. Yes, it is homework - more specifically for a course in philosophy of mind. So hereit is: "Now how do I get over the objection that a sensation can be identified with a brain process only if it has some phenomenal property, not possessed by brain processes, whereby one-half of the identification may be, so to speak, pinned down?" Here is a link to Smart's article, in case you want it in context: http://philosophyfaculty.ucsd.edu/faculty/rarneson... (On the 4th page at the bottom)
I found something about the passage (http://www.stanford.edu/~lmaguire/phil186/smart.ht... look under 'Objection 3'), but I am not sure if that is the right interpretation, especially because then I don't see how Smart's 'topic neutral' account of sensation statements actually counters this objection.
I would really appreciate any pointers!
4 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoProblem with Oblivion 4 on PS3. Being accused of stealing..Can anyone tell me what is going on?
Hi there, I have a problem in oblivion 4 on the PS3. Every time I meet a guard, I get accused of having a stolen item on me. The thing is: I have not stolen anything! I made sure not to, and I cannot see the little red hand symbol (which should mark any stolen items) on any item in my inventory. I don't know what is going on... I would appreciate any help, even if you don't know what went wrong, does anyone know how to get around this? I thought I might be able to sell most of my items to a travelling merchant, would that work? And if yes, where do I find one?
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoHow do I hook up LED's to a battery?
First of all, I don't have much electronics experience apart from doing a semester of electronics in yr 12 (and they didn't really teach us how any of it works, just said 'put this resistor here and that there' etc).
I pulled 3 LED's out of a pc which my neighbour was going to throw out, so I don't really know what the voltage range is.. (If that makes it impossible to use them, please tell me which ones to buy because I still want to do the following)
Now, I want to use them in a craft project and I don't have a clue how to hook them up properly. It doesn't really matter to me whether I hook them up to a battery or a power point, but I'm on a low budget so I figure battery would be cheaper, right?
Now, how on earth do I go about making the circuit board for them? Do I need to make a proper circuit board at all (I don't have that liquid for getting the copper off etc)? All I want is for those three LED's to be lit up solid.

What does everybody else find funny/unfunny about it? I wonder if it's anything like what I said to her....
