How will that work out? I've heard that if I get it brand new and have it put on that I'll be fine and I've heard from others that it will go out and give me engine problems. What do you guys think? I'm really just trying to add horse power and acceleration onto my engine. Nothing super major but maybe about 30-50 more horses if possible.

Is it possible to add a cam shaft onto my 2004 Monte Carlo engine, not supercharged, without any future complications? What does adding a cam shaft do? Does it add horsepower to the engine and if so how much?

I recently had a used engine put into my 2004 Monte Carlo and the engine exhaust smells like a lawn mower. I had the oil changed but is this because the engine needs to by fully flushed? It had white smoke come out once after not starting it for about two to three weeks. Is this a messed up head gasket or is this because it needs to be flushed and I hadn't started it up for a while?

I know it is extensive work but I figure a few thousand dollars of work into a car I already have is better than spending $8000-$10,000 on a 07monte Carlo ss plus work and mods. What do you guys think about this? Any websites I can get a good used 5.3l v8 from or should I get it from a person? I want this so I can add a camshaft, turbocharger, headers and pipes because all of that will blow my V6. I just want to keep my 2004 MC because it will be a classic one day and I don't believe in just throwing good working things away. My goal is to have a super fast muscle car type of MC but my biggest fear is the engine not being able to fit or being put in incorrectly.

I own a 2004 Montw Carlo Super Sport and I needed someone to help my diagnoses problem before I go to the shop so I won't get ripped of. My first issue is I'm leaking oil slowly out of my car. Second, when I'm in park and accelerate you can hear the engine, I guess you would call it 'skipping' and it's not a smooth acceleration. My friend said it sound like I have a broken/cracked vacuum. When I'm in drive I get a massive pull back when accelerating while the car is auto switching gears.
