  • Can an accident cause your eye vision to be damaged?

Situation: Earlier this summer, my 7 year old fell out of a Jeep (I was not present) that fortunately was just starting to move and fell right in front of the driveway. She suffered contusions on her arms and legs and wrists but all x-rays turned out okay.

When school started, she started complaining about her eye vision. This was never an issue before and she new wears glasses (is near sighted)

Question is: Is there any chance there is a correlation to the accident and her vision. We thought nothing of it until a couple of weeks ago when review this past year. Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on that.

  • Legal Question: Who should pay for a child's bandages.?

Maybe both a legal and moral question.

My 7 year old daughter fell out of a relative's jeep. She was not buckled... fortunately the jeep was just moving out of the driveway. She suffered contustions on 2 arms , her wrists and her legs. While our medical bills covered her urgent care needs, costs of co-pays, bandages and totaled around $500. We were advised to submit this to our car insurance agent. Our car insurance is working on this... but now the driver of the jeep says our costs were excessive and refuses to give us his insurance information. We didn't file a police report because it was family. That's turning out to be a mistake.

So... Legally... who do you think should cover the costs?

Morally who do you think should cover the costs?

  • You make the call....?

    Serious umpire question here.

Carlos Ruiz weakly ground to third to end the game on an infield hit as Longoria overthrew the catcher.

But what if ... Longoria had let the ball pass... hoping it would go foul... then the runner on second had slid into 3rd base (all other runners had advanced to their next base) then came off the bag, and the ball hit him in fair territory.

I know if he hadn't touched 3rd, he's out, all runners back to original spots... but the question is if he had already advanced, as had all the other runners... is the game techinally over once they all touch their bases (including the winning run) or does game continue.

  • Can you name this A.L. Rookie?

G AB R H 2B HR RBI OBP SLG Avg.

    1. 88 321 48 88 23 19 60 .346 .530 .274

    2. 40 158 24 51 15 4 25 .353 .506 .323

Look at 2 players above... which one should be AL ROY? player #1 has 19 homers and a .274 avg. Player 2 has 1/2 the ab, but a much higher avg.

Player 1 is Longoria and yes, I'd say he gets ROY, but don't overlook #2.... can you guess who it is?

  • What if C.C. had been selected?

What if Sabathia had been picked? Would he pitch for NL or AL?

Or what if Hurdle had been fired?

  • You make the call...?

This happened at a softball game I was at... would be far-fetched to happen in a baseball game, still...

Runner on third... line drive by the batter hits the runner... who is leaning in fair territory, but on the base.

    What would happen?

    Some options:

    1) All players are safe (runner on 3rd was on base, batter advances to first.

    2) Runner is safe, but batter is out.

    3) Runner is out, batter is safe.

    4) Foul ball

    5) ???????

I'll come back later with what the ump ruled, but I would like your opinions.

  • Should each MLB division have 5 teams?

Why not have 6 divisions of 5 teams... now AL West just have to be best of 4, while NL Central, you have to be best of 6. Even things out.

There will always be a "featured" interleague series going on.

    Agree? Why/Why not?

  • 2 gyms: Which would you choose (hypothetical)?

Gym A- Gives you 50% off if you hit your target weight/tone/fat% in a month... encouraging you to lose weight.

Gym B- Gives you 50% off if you DON'T hit your target... think of it as a refund for the gym not giving you what you need.
