  • Topping my Norfolk Pine?

We have a gigantic (40+ft) tall Norfolk Pine tree in our front yard and we love the look of it, but it's starting to cause some concern.

The tree is so large, it's getting top heavy and starting to lean at the top. We're afraid if the growth continues it could snap off and fall causing damage to house/car/people below.

We don't want to cut it down if we can help it, so my question is:

Can we take about 1/3 off the top of the tree without killing it?

  • How to use XP Remote Desktop to control a media computer.?

My media computer is hooked up to a TV, and it's also hooked up to my local network. I can Remote Desktop to my media computer (from my laptop), but when I do that, it cuts off the signal going to my TV. Is there a way to use Remote Deskop to control my media computer, and have the output also going to a VGA device ( in this case my TV )?

  • How do you convert a corel draw document (cdr) to a more portable image format like jpg without CorelDraw?

I have a logo file generated from CorelDraw in .cdr format. The person and the company who created it closed permanently, so I can't go back to them to have them export it to other formats. I obviously don't want to buy CorelDraw just so I can open this file.

Is there some sort of conversion utility or some other way to open thils file and convert it into jpg format?

  • How formal should the addressing of birth announcements be?

Should it say things like "Mr. & Mrs. Robert Smith" or is it considered more standard to be less formal like "Bob and Tammy Smith"

  • What techniques are there that work for getting a baby to sleep on their back?

Our baby sleeps fine on her stomach or side, but will rarely fall asleep while on her back. I'd be fine if she slept even for an hour or two on her back, but she just fusses and grunts and makes the occasional choking sound.

We put her on her stomach a couple times and she slept fine. Generally she sleeps fine in her car seat as well, but when we put her in the crib, on her back she won't settle.

Every SIDS site says you have to make sure to get the kid to sleep on their back, not on their side, not on their stomach. So, i'm wondering if there are techniques people have used to get the baby to sleep on their back.
