How many watts is my 3 phase electrical service using? I put an amp clamp on the 3 wires, the readings were:

wire 1: 75 amps

wire 2: 67 amps

wire 3: 55 amps

we're at 240V here. I'm trying to figure out how much grid tie inverter we should put for our solar system. we want to cancel most of the daytime load, trying to figure out how many watts was being used at the time when I used the amp clamp on the 3 wires.

In August 2011, I purchased a motorhome for business use for $78,000. In 2011 taxes, I instructed our accountant to take 2 years worth of depreciation, because we definitely would not sell it prior to 2012 year end. He took $40,000 worth of depreciation using section 179. Not sure how that figure came to be, but anyways, we plan to sell it in Dec 2012 or Jan 2013 - he now says we have to pay $24,000 worth of taxes if we sell it. Why?

I bought a used car in Texas, the license plates are valid until March 2012. its only September now. can i still use the existing plates until March, then register it at California DMV before it expires? im from california

For simplicity sake, lets use these figure: Im planning to trade-in my car which the dealer will value at $50,000. I want to purchase a new one from them at $100,000. When I go to register my new vehicle, willl DMV assess sales/use tax based on $100,000 value of brand new, or $50,000 - which is just the difference of the two?

I am a broker for small companies who outsource - they pay me 15%. So if my client pays me $1000, i hold on to it from anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months or so. Once the project is done, I release the $850 to the subcontractor and keep $150.

Should my gross revenue reflect $1000 or only $150?

My state (CA) taxes me on gross revenue, and it needlessly inflates my gross if i have to include the entire $1000 vs just the $150 that I actually end up keeping.

Ive been looking for a used car in the SF Bay Area for the past 2 weeks, in the $6500 to $7000 range using mostly craigslist and also visiting local used car dealer lots. I've come across a bunch of ugly cars that are poorly maintained aesthetics-wise, and who knows mechanical-wise. I saw 4 honda civics, an acura integra, and a ford escape, ranging from banged up bumper, malfunctioning doors and windows, dirty/stained carpets, cigarette burned interiors, missing hood latches, passenger doors that wont open properly, etc Most have about 110,000 to 138,000 miles on it and claim no engine trouble so far.

I also saw a 2002 Audi wagon 1.8 that is in fantastic shape inside and out, for the same price - $6800. it only has 88K miles, and is not a salvage title. I'm wondering why the resale value of the audi is so low compared to toyotas and hondas? Is it because the maintenance cost is way higher?

I'm a broker/agent who pairs up buyers with sellers. The buyer signs the contract with me, and pays me $100,000. I keep the money in escrow until the seller is done performing the service (it usually takes several months). Once the buyer is satisfied, I take my 15% comission ($15,000), then release the money from escrow ($75,000) and send to the seller. For income tax purposes, how does it work?

Do I report the entire amount $100,000 as income, then expense $75,000 as "outside services/contract labor"? OR do I only report the $15,000 I earned in comission?

I had some old jewelry laying around and sold it at the We Buy Gold store in my neighborhood. THey told me there would be no tax implications beacuse i already paid tax when i purchased the jewelry. But my accountant said, all businesses should be giving out 1099-MISC to any person they pay over $600/year to, no matter for what. The store paid me $2350 for my old jewelry. Will I be getting a 1099?

I heard that any payment over $600 in a year, i have to issue to anyone I pay. Is this true if I purchase a used car for my small business, worth $6000? I am buying from a private party from classified ads, not a dealer.

I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in early July. I got my period (very light) in early August. I got normal period in September. Now its October and my period came 2 weeks late, and i noticed since early October, my hair was falling out (lots of hair on brush, lots of hair coming off everytime i run my hands through my hair...bed is full of hair, too! my hair is thinning out a lot now!) is there something wrong with me?!?!

our linksys wrt54g wireless router is downstairs... one of the upstairs rooms (furthest one) has really poor signal, only 1 bar, and interent is SOOOO slow. is there something I can buy for $100 at best buy or so to make it stronger upstairs? I saw a hack for boosting the router signal online, but not sure how it can really do that, and it looks complicated.

my neck and bottom of my neck/shoulders area hurts a lot. what type of doc should I see?

I dont know if I pinched a nerve or its just stress-related. I've been driving a lot and carrying heavy bags, and under a lot of stress. sometimes i feel prickly feeling fora few seconds in my hands , arms or legs. im freaking out, and wanna see a doctor, just dont know if its an ortho, a neuro, or what?

I got an ultrasound at 8 weeks based on LMP, and it showed the embryo was 8.1mm (or 6 wks and 5 days) with a 3mm yolk sac and 128bpm heartbeat. The doc said maybe i was off in my counting, because I was slightly irregular in my period. This was the day I found out I was pregnant, and the past 2 months, I've been working out hard (trying to lose weight) by cycling in the gym for about 6 hours a week and doing light weights. Then a few days before my ultrasound and finding out I was pregnant, I went surfing and wakeboarding (i'm a beginner, so you can imagine how many hard tumbles and face-plants I did while wakeboarding) I dont normally drink, but it was also my birthday during this "sports trip" so i had 2 beers and 2 shots of vodka.

On my 2nd ultrasound at 13 wk 1 day from my LMP, it showed no yolk sac, no heartbeat, and 20.85mm (or 8 wks 5 days) I'm now waiting for a natural miscarriage, which should happen in the next 2 weeks, or else theyll do a D&C.

My doc claims its probably a chromosome abnormality by bad genes mixing together, and has nothing to do with my excessive sports/exercise when I didnt know I was pregnant. Not sure if thats true or if she's just saying that to make me feel better. Any input?

My throat started hurting last Wednesday, and by Friday I got full-blown stuffiness, sore throat, phlegm, etc. By Tuesday it was subsiding, and Wednesday AM I feel great, and can actually breathe through my nose and no cough. however, i have a painful and swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck, which is as big as a raisin. It definitely was NOT there yesterday, because I checked. I also got a bug bite on my nape. Will a lymph node get swollen towards the END of a cold, or could it be caused by a swollen bug bite?

My mom, who lives overseas, wants to buy/invest in a house here in the USA, and attend a housing auction in a few weeks. she doesnt have a US bank account, and wants to wire me roughly $100,000 so she can use it as a downpayment when she gets here. I told her its not a good idea beacuse I might be getting tax problems from a huge sum of money landing in my personal bank account. Does anyone know what happens if i get this, and how am I suppose to report it, if required?
