Hi, I am Ajeet, an Indian National Living in Taipei Taiwan ROC not the PRC. I Think that the PRC should be referred to as The PRC and Not China!!! It is very deceiving. I have lived here for 25 years and "I'm still lovin' it!!! It is a great place with wonderful people. I moved here after 18 years in Singapore. I have traveled To many countries but have never visited Africa or the Americas. Frankly, I'm not interested in going there , I just love it in Asia. (Saw this in the Newspaper in Taiwan) Asian pride is in my mind, Asian blood is in my kind, So step aside and let me through, Cuz its all about the Asian crew. Asian luv is all around, For my fellow Asians, never let me down, Show your pride and say it's true, Cuz Asian blood flows through you. Anon

  • Swine Flu - So why the Pandemic?

Today's news is really "cr*p . I really don't understand the fuss considering the other stuff they mentioned:

    First part:

GENEVA – The World Health Organization told its member nations it was declaring a swine flu pandemic Thursday — the first global flu epidemic in 41 years — as infections climbed in the United States, Europe, Australia, South America and elsewhere.

    Second part:

On Wednesday, WHO said 74 countries had reported nearly 27,737 cases of swine flu, including 141 deaths. The agency has stressed that most cases have been mild and required no treatment, but the fear is that a rash of new infections could overwhelm hospitals and health authorities — especially in poorer countries.

    And then there is this:

May 15, 2009 -- More than 100,000 Americans probably have the flu -- and at least half of these cases are H1N1 swine flu, a CDC expert estimates. (i.e. 50,000)

Someone at WHO is as bad as me in Math!!

    Last part:

The last pandemic — the Hong Kong flu of 1968 — killed about 1 million people. Ordinary flu kills about 250,000 to 500,000 people each year.

  • Singapore: Bus fare dodgers can be fined too?

Other than those who misuse concession cards, such

as those meant specifically for students or full-time national servicemen, how can people cheat -

Is it not electronic where you tap the card when you board or alight the Bus and enter or exit the MRT- Is not the fare auto computed and deducted accordingly??

Also how can people use expired cards?? It would show no funds once you tap it on the reader.

I found this report very strange that so many people try to get away with it..

  • Violence in Malaysia?

I have been reading in the online papers of gangs now resorting to a lot of violence during robberies and that there is a big increase in this type of crime especially in the JB area

.There have also been reports from different areas of Malaysia of people geting beaten up and robbed, people being killed and dumped in out of the way places e.t.c.

Exactly how safe is it now a day for a traveller.
