Did a load of cooking yesterday and knocked up some creme brulee and an egg custard tart but now I have seven egg whites in a jug in the fridge and I don't want to waste them. I suppose I could make a lemon meringue pie but that means going out to the supermarket again. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I was brought up not to sing at the meal table, but unlike elbows etc can find no reason why. Is it just because my grandmother who helped raise me was a miserable old cow and didn't like the sound of other people being happy?

We have a small(ish) vegetable patch which currently has sweetcorn, spring onions, lettuces and a couple of tomato plants all of which will be done by about the end of September. Given the credit crunch we'd quite like to maximise use of the space so what vegetables can I plant that will grow from then either to give produce through the winter or at least something in early spring?

I started growing vegetable in my garden last year and have notced this weed that just keeps coming back. It grows out rather than up, and each stem has three heart-shaped leaves a bit like a clover or a shamrock, but they are dark green in colour, gradually changing to a deep blood red even purplish in places.

What is it and does anyone have any tips on how to get rid?

I always thought it sounded like it could be Mel C, but listening to it a few more times I reckon it's probably Tessa Niles. Anyone here know for certain?

I have had no problems until the last 48 hours or so, nor have I changed any settings anywhere, but suddenly it won't work.

When my wife is logged in on the same computer it works fine, but I can't get it to work on my login in IE or Opera. Have run fill diagnostics and virus checks but no joy. Any clues gratefully received, except for those suggesting your favourite default browser.

When I open Windows Task Manager it tells me that Opera is taking up between 75 and 85% of CPU usage, which in turn always shows as 100%. I have run CCleaner and Registry Booster and tried both a restart and a cold boot but to no avail. It doesn't seem to make a difference how many tabs I have open in Opera. My Nortons Security Centre is up to date and comes up clear on a full system scan.

Any suggestions/help/fixes greatly appreciated, thanks.

Watching Sky Channel 303 "The Ice Harvest", and haven't selected any options from any menus, but there's some Herbert signing in the bottom corner of the screen. While I have the utmost respect for the disabled, is there any way of getting rid of him without messing up the fact that I had to pause the movie on Sky+ for a few minutes?
