  • My dog has distemper, how do we know when she is suffering too much?

A week ago we saw a cocker lying in the street. My husband was able to get her into a box and we took her to a vet who said she has distemper. She seems to be in bad shape, although sometimes she seems a little better. Her hind legs are very weak, she doesn't walk, although she can if she really wants to. What worries us is she goes to the bathroom while lying down but doesn't get up to go to a dry area. Now her breathing seems to be getting labored, with little puffs. But she is still breathing. She seems to have somewhat of an appetite still, she tries to eat kibble, most of it ends up on the floor. I'm not sure if any gets down. She is drinking water and hydration fluid, but I have to hold it near her mouth, she doesn't get up to drink. Her fur is dirty and stinky from going to the bathroom, but also all matted and she has tons of fleas and ticks. She doesn't seem to be old or young and hasn't had any seizures or muscle tics that we have seen, yet.

Please, if you have any information please share. We don't want her to suffer if she is always going to be paralized, but we have grown attached to her and value her life. We don't want to end it if she might get better. We live in Mexico and the vets tell us she has a chance to live, but they of course don't know what her life will be like. They say she is already better off because she has food and a place to sleep and people who care about her. One of the vets is giving her shots every other day. I think they are antibiotics, something for the nerves and protein. He isn't charging us for them.

    Thank you.

  • Almost continuous pain in one breast, sometimes both?

I have had pain in the right breast for about three months now, mostly around the armpit but sometimes the nipple is sore. Also, the left breast sometimes feels odd, too. I went to the family doctor and he had me get a breast exam by the gynecologist. She didn't find any lumps and I don't feel any, either. But I'm getting worried. The pain is basically every day. I stopped taking birth control pills about a month ago. Sometimes a bra seems to help and sometimes it seems to cause more pain. I'm 34, no history of anything. Thanks for any helpful answers!

  • Our friend is losing his upper arm and upper leg muscle use. He can't walk anymore.?

He can walk on his feet, sort of, using his arms a little. That seems to be the only symptom, other than loss of mass, which could also be due to malnutrition, the only thing he eats is refried beans once day. We just met him, and are trying to help him, but his doctor's appointment isn't until March 5. Does anyone know what it could be? I'm thinking some kind of muscular dystrophy. It started when he was 18, he slowly lost the ability to walk, and now his upper arms are losing their use. He is now 22. We don't know of any family history.

  • My 6 week old puppy won't stop crying, he still has his brothers with him!?

I feed him, he has a warm bed, he isn't alone. I can't let the mom to see them, because she is sick and they are just recuperating. This puppy that is crying is already better, his 3 brothers are still sick, though. He keeps escaping from his area, too. But that's ok, he is allowed to room in the spare bedroom. We have been giving them more attention since they got sick, I can only guess this is separation anxiety, but I don't want to give in, I can't spend my whole day in that bedroom. If I keep him here in the living he will escape and poop and pee all over.

  • How can I get my class to sit down and shut up?

I just started teaching a 2nd grade ESL class at a private school in Mexico. The last ESL teacher did not discipline well, so I'm told. Their main teacher seems to be always yelling at them. In fact, she was even in the class today and it didn't help much.

Two boys are "wanderers"-NEVER stay in their seat. The rest are in la la land. I made them put their heads down so they would be quiet. I taught them a special clap as a sign that I want their attention. They are just really out there!

I thought I was making the vocabulary fun by acting it out (verbs) and writing it on the board. I had them act it out too.

I think I have to just have them copy from the board or do their workbooks and that's it. Fun activities are too distracting!

  • Why is there so MUCH pus coming out of his Nose?

My husband's nose can excrete like a spoonful of pus everyday when squeezed, although no pimples are visible. He has a big nose, but it seems excessive.

  • Does Olive oil work for gallstones?

My doctor prescribed olive oil and black raddish, to be taken 3 tbs. for about two months. I gagged and burped it up all day yesterday, and I dont want to continue. Does anyone have ultrasound proof that their stones went away?

Or is this just a good flush for the body without ridding gallstones?

  • Where can I buy something to cover our sunroof? 92 Chevy S-10?

I think it's a sunroof or a moonroof, it's just piece of glass, there's no sliding headliner. My husband wants to bolt a piece of metal a few inches above it, but there must be an easier way!!

  • What size tablecloths do I buy for a 60" round table for my wedding?

The rental place told me that the table will fit 8 people tightly. I don't want the tableclothes to be too short, too.
