Several years ago, I purchased a life insurance policy that my sister had taken out on our mother because my sister needed the money. The life insurance policy was paid out this year for $30,000. I purchased it for $20,000 and paid $1,000 in premiums. How would this need to be reported on my taxes?

I am a mechanic for a local dealer. I use the shop for car repairs that I do on the side. This past year, I worked on my own car (FMV $1200), my daughters car (FMV $1900), and my neighbors car (FMV $2400). I did not charge my daughter, but I agreed to fix my neighbors car in exchange for him painting my house. What things here, if any, do I need to include in my income for the year?

I am a 21 yr old full time college student who is still a dependent on my mom's tax return (she itemizes). I would like to donate my car which has a Fair Market Value of $5,000, to take advantage of the charitable deduction on my taxes. I currently have $300 in deductions without the charitable deduction.

What do you recommend I do to take advantage of the charitable deduction. Should I have my mom donate the car for me if I don't itemize my deductions?

I asked this question not to long ago, but i guess i wasnt specific enough, so i will try to add more details.

I have a large list of contacts in excel (well over 3000). The Adress info for each contact is all on one cell, like this:

123 Anywhere Street New York NY 12345

All the Addresses are different and there are only spaces between the words, (no commas)

What i need though is the street in one cell and the city, the state and zip code in another cell.

***i tried using the text to column function but since each address is different, i would only be able to do one contact at a time (which is what im trying to avoid)

Just wondering if there was anyway in excel to seperate it like this without going through each Address and manually doing it. Thanks in Advance

Lets say you get 450 minutes per month and you only use 350. So next month you will have 550 for that month. Then lets say you only use 400 of that 550, so do you get to rollover that 150 to the next month so youll have 600 mins?, etc, etc........or does it only rollover once to the next month and then start over again?

I plan on leaving my car at JFK for about 11 days. The rates i found online were - $15/day. Can someone please verify this so i dont get shafted after i drive there and find out its a lot more..... Also, do you leave your keys with them?
