  • about the capture of the British sailors?

All the reports state that they were "ambushed" by the Iranians. How does that happen in open water where the horizon is a good 10-20 miles away?

Did the Iranians hide behind a wave and then just suddenly jump out?

For the record I think it's disgraceful what the Iranians are doing and think that they should release all 15 immediately, along with a grovelling apology and an admission that they (the Iranians) were in the wrong all along - I'm just genuinely baffled as to how an ambush could take place in open waters.

  • Northern Ireland Assemby?

Do you think that the DUP and Sinn Fein will stick to their agreement and share power from 8th May, or do you think that one or other of the sides will find another excuse to delay before then?

  • Longest suicide in history?

It used to be said that the 1983 Labour election manifesto was the longest suicide note in history. Do you think that G. Brown's latest Budget might usurp that title?

  • Should inmates get the vote?

Currently several prison inmates in Scotland are claiming that their inability to vote contravenes the European Convention on Human Rights and are considering taking legal action to the effect that the upcoming elections will be postponed. Certainly they are talking of making damages claims should they be denied the vote. Such claims could result in a bill of £7m ($14m).

Although Scottish elections are likely to be of minimal interest to most people here, what do you think of the underlying point; do convicted criminals have the right to vote whilst incarcerated and if so, should there be "grades" where their ability to vote depends on the crime commited?

  • Europeans vs Americans?

Why do you think it is that US golfers are so good at individual strokeplay competitions compared to Europeans, and yet the Europeans thrash them at team strokeplay. This isn't intended as a "ha ha, you got gubbed" question, I'm really wondering why this is the case.

The last European to win a Major was Paul Lawrie in 1999, and the last European on the Ryder Cup team to win one was Olazabal at the Masters of the same year.

Since then, US golfers have won over 20 Majors, to Europe's none.
