Im an old Jack-of-all-Trades. Ive done many jobs, done them well, but got bored and moved on. Now Im mostly retired (from the U.S. Air Force) other than various NetCop jobs on the Internet such as admining internet servers, computer forensics, moderating forums. Besides all that I run 2 internet servers from my house. As part of my moderating forums I have a habit of trying to make sure that no one gets ignored. With my general background I have fun looking at the old unanswered questions and researching the answers for them. My trademark comment is: Never ask what the best is. There is never a "best", there is only pros and cons. And yes that really is my name.

  • N.California tree I can plant?

Since I moved in I have had to remove 2 trees. I feel that I owe two. Im looking for something to plant. Some preferences (tho I doubt anything would fill all)

    A) native

    B) rare

    C) does not need watered

    D) useful in some way

Im more likely to award to people giving sites, or new keywords I can search on

  • California yard cover for drought?

Actually Im in mid Cal (between Sac and SF) but I want a front yard that is reasonably green colored without putting alot of water on it in the summer (unless sometimes grey-water). I wouldnt be against a return to something that was originally in the area also as long as its grassy-short.

And no I dont want to put in rock and paint it green.

  • like Wierd Al Yankovic but not him?

I love Wierd Al. I also love anyone doing recognized songs with new lyrics (such as Bob Rivers or the CthulhuLives.org site). Or recognized songs in new styles (such as Gimme Gimme's).

I would like somewhere else to look. A group, a website, somewhere to expand this part of my music choices.

  • something like Enya but not Enya?

I really like just about everything Enya does, some of Enigma, also Loreena McKennit, and Celtic Women.

I like a suggestion on what to listen to next. Maybe a website. I havent really found anything that strikes me as being the same as Enya.
