  • Who would believe Indian Raga guitar from a Southern Rock band?

Derek's uncle is the drummer for the Allman Brothers Band. Derek has been playing with them for years, since Duane died. His wife is Susan Tedeschi and their version of Delaney and Bonnie's "Anyday" is not to be missed, also available on youtube.

  • What is the geo-location of the "Bliss" image used by WinXP showing the green hill top. Lat-Long Google Earth?

I've always wondered if the faint outlines over the hill on the right are housetops. With Google Earth or, if it's in the U.S., Yahoo or Google Maps, I could look at the area with a satellite view and pan around. I've wondered about the locations that the other images were taken from, too. The beach view, the sand dunes, and now, in the new version of Win7, there's all new places to wonder where the photos were taken.

  • How do I remove Sabayon - Linux OS from a Toshiba laptop set up with a dual boot to WinXP Home, too?

I've acquired a Toshiba laptop with two operating systems on it. WinXP Home and Sabayon-Linux. I've looked in the WinXP Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs but there is no reference to Linux. I've looked at My Computer - C:\ drive and see no reference or folders to the Linux system. I've done a global search for the term Sabayon on the C:\ drive, no joy. I have Administrator privileges on the WinXP OS, but only a logon password for the Linux OS. The previous owner got the PC with both OS' installed. I have a legit copy of WinXP Home with validation codes. I also have an OEM disk of WinXP Pro with activation codes, but when I tried to use it, it said it was an older version of XP and declined to run.

I am totally unfamiliar with Linux and would like to regain the hard drive space being occupied by the Linux OS.

I would prefer not to have to reformat the drive and reinstall the WinXP and lose all the installed programs. TIA

  • Can a Plasma Gas Furnace destroy low grade nuclear waste without creating a radioactive residue hazard?

Or could the PGF process at least condense the amount of waste so existing storage facilities would be able to handle the expected volume of low-grade waste now that nuclear energy may be coming back in vogue.

I've been doing a variety of casual research on Plasma Gas Waste disposal systems in my search for answers about environmental problems. I had a "eureka" moment when I considered the synergy of the PGF and the enormous amount of residual slightly radioactive waste from the Medical & research world. ã

You click to be first, or at least among the first to answer and by the time you get your answer typed out and posted, there are already 14 other people who have posted nearly the same thing you wrote?

  • Should Yahoo points be awarded for Dumb Answers or "One Word" answers?

People are answering legitimate questions with one word answers or really dumb answers, just to get the two points and try to get to higher points categories. Should Yahoo allow a person who asks a question to reject answers and deny points to people who fit this description? Should Yahoo allow other people who answer a persons questions to vote on other answers to that same question and if enough people flag an answer, the points awarded for answering are deducted?

  • Is the Electoral College system relevant and representative of the will of the people in modern elections?

With the current "Winner-Take-All" system of apportioning electoral votes in 48 states in National elections, the person who receives the plurality of the popular vote gets ALL the Electoral votes. That immediately disenfranchises the percentage of voters who voted for the person who received fewer votes. If the popular vote is so close that the split is as tight as 51% -49%, then nearly half of the voters in a state have wasted their ballot. I believe an apportioned system of Electoral voting would better represent the will of the people. We would no longer have the artificial system of "Red State-Blue State", all states would reflect the actuality of a "Shades of Purple" country. Politicians would spend time in each state campaigning, rather than focusing all their efforts to win states with the most electoral votes. Every persons vote would count when totalled, if the percentage of electoral votes were split along the same percentage as votes received in the popular election.
