Is this country going to rack and ruin?
more policy chnages than ever before, ill thought through policies and knee jerk reactions coupled with an underlying theme that tax and charges for everything is oossible and being the answer to everything has made this country a far worse place than it hase been for the last forty years. Are we victims of our own they know best and the country will run its self attitudes?
15 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoHave you Signed the anti road charge petition yet? Do it now! please?
There is one month to go, 750,000 signatures are needed to stop the introduction of road charges or tax per mile. The lowest amount clocked up was £28 per month in the trials. So if the Road fund licence was dropped and pay per mile was introduced this women would approximately £336 in tax a mother running her children to school would have paid £86 for her months trial go to my 360 for further details or http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

There is an ever increasing global population but most of us continue to do or put up with a lot we do not like because a few legislate and regulate our lives for us.
I do not condon anarchy, my own view is that most of us lack the balls to stand up for what we want and there is a huge dose of apathy affecting us. What is your take on the situation?

North Korea announced that the recently imposed sanctions against them are a declaration of war. They also said they would it would "deliver merciless blows" to anyone that breached their right to survive under the excuse of carrying out United Nations resoluitons.
They are thought to be in the process of testing a second bomb. Is it time to start worrying?

With more people working for civil services, government and council related jobs. The need to pay for these puts pressure on those in other work to pay for them through taxes and other stealth schemes. This in turn pushes prices up which means we have the 'council' workers need more money so higher taxes more stealth schemes. Britain becomes less competitive. Whats the answer?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat a load of rubbish!?
Britain appears to becoming the world centre for thinking up ideas by government and local councils and then taxing a public that can do little more than pay up. Today we face cost for parking outside our own homes to parking anywhere the can stick a yellow line to over inflated council tax ...and the latest a series of rubbish charges from microchipping you bin to see how much you put in it. The idea of charging on top of council tax for rubbish removal already being spoken about. Every thing is important but lets get it into proportion what are your views?

12 AnswersOther - United Kingdom1 decade agoIt has to be asked?
New water regulations were imposed in the UK a while ago, we now have a limit to the amount off litres in our toilet cisterns and there was talk about reducuing it more.
Recently I find the remains of the day (or yesterday dependant on your routine) stuck to the sides or bottom of the pan, lumps skid marks there all their. Is it because there is less water to flush, is it the food we eat is stickier once it has completed the the bodily functions or are we becoming genetically stickier people?
The result is that in this family we all flush more and waste more water.
I like seriouse but the funniest asnwer gets 10 points
16 AnswersOther - Social Science1 decade agoGordan Brown said he wants to palm the NHS of to another body of Admin!?
The labour party has already got rid of responsibility for setting the Bank of England's base rate to a body of 'non political' experts. Now he wants to do the same with the NHS, anything that is a problem and they can be blamed for they want to hive off.
If that is the case would we not be better off electing people to sit on various control boards and pay seperate taxes to each individual department, don't have a government or maybe just a leader to attend state and foriegn functions(Oh! we have a Queen to do that). wouldn't have to pay MP's and the money would be more accountable.
Sorry its a long question, what do you tihink?

When I lived in London I knew and had visited many of the tourist places. Mainly due to an Aunt that visited from the North with a need to be entertained when I was young. Later in life it never ceased to surprise me how little people knew of their surrounding locations
