House has hybrid Norwegian rats, exterminator says they have been here years, landlord doesn't want to replace?
the blown in insulation that they have been using for a toilet for years. The rats are living in the attic crawl space. The smell is very, very bad. Exterminator also said the really bad taste that I always wake up with in my mouth is due to the extreme amounts of rate urine in the crawl space. I believe I heard the exterminator say(outside, away from landlord) that unless all is replaced(ductwork, insulation) then the rats will just return due to their phermones . The landlord is willing to replace the ductwork. I am wondering if what I heard the rodent control guys saying that ratsb will just come back if its not all replaced is true. The whole ductwork for the A/C has just been destroyed, they have been living in there and we have been breathing this stuff for over a year, and my parrots have been sicker than ever before and I even still have a cough, although I get sick once every 3 or 4 years.. Every morning we check the electronic trap and throw out another baby(usually) rat. 3 days ago or so the exterminators put arsenic powder into the duct work to try and kill the rats, but I saw one tonight, still. Too make matters worse, a few weeks ago I even found a rat in my most ill parrots cage.
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden9 years agoAnyone know how big a space a rat needs to enter a home, and the best way(s) to keep or rid of them? In So. FL?
Sadly, they are entering through my landlords laundry room, worse they are sticking around to eat my parrots leftover fruits and veggies from the day. Of course, the offending foods and garbage will of course be put away and cleaned up from now on so this doesn't continue to feed the nasty rodents, previously I just changed the food bowls out the next day in case the birds wanted to munch on their old veggies, big mistake in the county next to Miami, Florida apparently...
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden9 years agoI am not able to get along with my mother and we live very close at the present, so as to help her financially?
She is the meanest, most insensitive person I have ever heard of. She is actually so bad that I thought the memories I had of her and her wicked little comments were exaggerated. Now many years later, I still find myself unable to like her in the least. I married a ret. veteran and she calls him a cash cow. WE both dislike her and l don't want to but, she is hurting me and destroying my self esteem with her extreme negativity and pure hatefulness. I am almost forty years old and she is in her 60s, but she has pretty much always been this way. Just one ex. She went out and bought me and my spouse a TV for xmas she said. So I told her, well you didn't have to do that, I would be happy to pay you back for it over the next couple of months. So soon after my husband got his annual vacation check at which time she told me to pay her back, so she could," Get it while the gettings good." I didn't speak to her for a couple of weeks after giving her her couple hundred that time. I don't know why she is the way she is. Many times since she is nearly deaf now, she clearly talks about us when we are together, I guess she feels under her breath, but anyone around hears her. I don't know how to get her to just leave well enough alone, esp. when she is giving me her advice, like she always does. For ex. she tells me, "I can see you're never gonna lose weight its just an endless cycle, blah, blah, etc." any advice... appreciated.

3 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoown a house, w/ 25k mortgage that was condemned, structural issues, etc. It does include 1.6 acres,?= what todo?
It was bought in 2005 or 6 for far more than it was worth, and now I am wondering outside of giving up on this place, is there anyway to find out if it would be worth it to keep it, maybe put a couple of mobile homes on it that we rehabbed after buying them cheaply. It does need both septic repairs and electrical major repairs, however. Oh, its in grayson county, VA, about 20 minutes from sparta, elk creek. and it is in a beautiful area surrounded by national forests and private farms.
