March Madness...
How did you bathe your newborn?
Did you use the sink or bathtub?
What infant tub did you buy, and how did you like it?
Thanks!
9 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoCloth diapering Mamas....?
I've heard some great things about Green Mountain Diapers prefolds, and am considering getting some, except... they're more expensive than a lot of others (Cottonbabies, Little Lions), AND shipping is NOT CHEAP from GMD.
Do you have any experience with GMD prefolds? Are they worth the extra cost? I don't have a problem with paying for quality, but dislike paying extra when I can get an equivalent product cheaper elsewhere. THANKS!!!

3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHey Mamas! Did you know...?
when you went into labor? Or was it hard to tell? Did you have a lot of false alarms?
Just hoping that I'll know what's going on when the time comes.
Thanks!
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoInfo about cloth diapers....?
We are expecting our son in March, and would like to make an effort to use cloth diapers as much as possible, both for environmental and financial reasons. :)
After researching quite a bit, I think we'll start with prefolds and see what happens. Anyone have suggestions for what brand of prefolds and covers we should buy? Know any good online stores to purchase from?
Also, I know you can get away without pinning prefolds, but how well did that work for you?
Thanks everyone!
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHelp from BFing moms, please?
I'm going to be a first time mom in March, and would definitely like to breastfeed.
I'm wondering if any of you ladies have recommendations for good nursing bras, because I don't even know where to start!
Also - any guidelines on what size to buy? Or when to buy? At 32 weeks, I've gone from a 34C/D to a 36DD. Is it too soon to buy nursing bras? Any ideas about sizing are appreciated!
Thanks, ladies!

12 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do I keep my baby warm?
I will have my son in mid-March, adn it will be COLD here. I'm wondering how to keep him warm while going back and forth to the car, and also while he's in the car seat.
I'm guessing that too many layers of clothing would prevent him from being properly secured in the car seat, right? So do I have to cover him with a blanket, or a car seat cover, or what?
For some reason I just thought of this now, and I'm kind of worried about it. Thanks for your answers!

kicking? Not just those first flutters or popcorn-like feelings, but actual kicks? I'm 20 weeks with my first, and just wondering when to expect some more action. Thanks =)

7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoFirst time home buyers credit?
Just got my refund today after amending my 2008 return to include the first time home buyers credit. I was just curious as to why the IRS paid me interest on the $8000 - I was under the impression that they would collect interest, but did not pay it out? Is that not true? Any ideas?
Thanks, everyone!
4 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoWhy do I have to be the rational one during pregnancy?
My mother-in-law, up to this point, has been pretty decent. Now, I think she's lost her mind!
She wants my hubby and I to fly across the country to spend Christmas with her family, which would normally be OK, but this just isn't a good year to do it.
Not only am I concerned about flying, since I will be 30+ weeks pregnant, but she wants us to stay for 3 weeks. So she expects us to pay for the tickets and a hotel, as well as losing about 2 weeks of salary. I'd rather not blow a lot of money, since we do have a baby coming soon!
On top of all that, last year we spent 2 weeks in 3 different states with her family, and we will also be spending this Thanksgiving with her family. Hubby and I really would like a nice relaxed Christmas this year, and also want to stay closer to home. Since she only lives a couple of hours away, it wouldn't be an issue if she came by us or we went by her for a couple days, but flying all over the country is not an option. I also told my husband he could go alone if he wanted to, but she will not be happy unless I'm there, because she wants everyone to be able to see me pregnant (like I'm a prized cow or something?).
She has been having a major fit since she heard that we are not going along with her plans this year. Any ideas on how to stop her ranting and maybe even appeal to her rational side on this? I'm not giving in, so she needs to get over it, and the sooner, the better for me.
Thanks, guys!!!
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat did you want.....?
I am currently almost 15 weeks and getting really excited about my next ultrasound so we can find out whether we're having a boy or girl.
I've been having the feeling it's a girl, and I'm wondering if that's just because I'm really hoping for a girl.
I know we'll all be happy as long as we have a healthy baby, but tell me - were you (or are you) hoping for a boy or a girl, and what did your baby end up being? Also, did you have any feelings one way or the other before you found out?
