I'm an optimistically cynical, openly opinionated agnostic person. What's that mean? I haven't got a clue. All I know is I've got an opinion on just about any and every subject and I'm not afraid tell what that opinion is. Sometimes it's good, other times it's not. I don't pull any punches because life is too short to sugar coat. I'll tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. That being said, ask me anything. If I don't have an opinion on it, or if I think it's pointless, I'll probably either make up an answer or just ignore the question altogether. Any subject is fine with me, however, I'm a huge trivia fan. So, movies, music, TV, trivial facts, I'm full of them. Well, I'm full of something according to my wife. Stop by, give me a yell and ask me anything. PEACE -- An Idea Whose Time Has Come!

  • Music lovers, is there a song that makes you stop doing whatever it is you're doing when you hear it?

I guess it's kind of like, "What is your favorite song?" I have a lot of favorite songs, but every time I hear "Main Street" by Bob Seger I just stop what I'm doing and turn it up. It reminds me of someone that was very close to me.

  • Starting QB help needed, Favre or Rothlisberger?

Can't decide on whether I should start Favre against San Francisco, or Rothlisberger against Dallas. Common sense tells me that Favre will light it up against the 49ers, however, Rothlisberger has a better total projected points against the Cowboys. Anyone out there got any good advice which one to start?

  • What do you think about this option to the Bailout plan?

    The Birk Economic Recovery Plan

I'm totally against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a "We Deserve It" Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18+.

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a "We Deserve It" Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax-free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads

Put away money for college - it'll be there

Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car - create jobs

Invest in the market - capital drives growth

Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves

Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman20Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+, instead of just one company whom are evidently idiots in money management anyway.

As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up. Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work." (or can it?) But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion "We Deserve It" Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC. And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

This was created by a gentleman by the name of T. J. Birkenmeier.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it sound pretty darn good to me!

  • The movie Dazed and Confused -- did you love this movie and, which character would you say you are most like?

And, who was your favorite character in the movie?

My favorite was Slater, the pothead played by Rory Cochrane. That character reminds me of a couple of friends I had growing up in the '70s.

I watch this movie whenever I get the chance and I really identify with Mitch, the freshman, who hangs out with the upper classmen and parties all night with them. Takes me back to those days (yeah, I'm old) to when my older brother and sister would let me tag along with them to their parties. Ah, the good old days. I'm just glad I lived through them!!! LOL

  • Is it possible to be a fan of both Star Wars & Star Trek?

I am, but I've often heard arguments from both sides that you can't be a fan of both because each "universe" is so different from each other. I'd love to know what all my fellow Trekkies and Star Wars geeks have to say!

  • What's the story with Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool on the big screen?

I heard rumors about Reynolds portraying my favorite comic book character (The Merc with a Mouth) in a movie, but haven't been able to find out what movie it is. Hopefully, it will lead to a Deadpool movie. That would be sweet!!!

  • What are you feelings about Heather Mills taking part in the Dancing With the Stars?

I'm a big Beatles fan, and have been hearing about this on the radio and TV for the past couple of weeks. A lot of radio stations are making a big deal about it. Personally, I could give a damn about what she does with her life, although this is proof that she will do just about anything for money. (Good thing she doesn't get into any kind of relationships purely for the money!) I won't be watching the show because I don't care what gold-digging ex-wives, or has been celebrities (if you want to call them that) do to get back into the spotlight. I don't like so-called reality TV shows.

What are you feelings on her and/or reality TV?

  • Can anyone help with the title of this song? Warren Zevon sings it, but I don't know the name.?

I'm not sure if it's an original by Warren Zevon or a cover. It sounds like an original, and I’ve heard just about every song by him. That is until I heard this one. The song starts out, "Well, I've been out walking, I don't do that much talking, these days, these daaays. These days I seem to think a lot about the things I forgot to do."

    Thanx for any help.

  • Which are your favorite Peter Gabriel or Genesis songs and why? Do you prefer Gabriel or Phil Collins, why?

I have always been a Peter Gabriel fan, and was surprised to find out that not many people realize he was with Genesis before going solo. I'd have to say I'm a bigger Gabriel fan than I am a Collins fan, but I do like Phil's stuff. By the way, Brodie Bruce spurred this idea with his Phil Collins/Genesis favorite song.

  • Anyone ever heard of "Mindbender" by Stillwater and know where I can get it?

Stillwater never really hit big, but they were a band in the '70s and this song totally rocks. The lyrics are something like, "My mama was a Stratacaster, my daddy was a Fender. That's why they call me, Mindbender!"
