    The tachometer in my car indicates that the RPM's of my engine go as high as 3,000 to 4,000 revolutions per minute before I change gears. I started thinking about what that number meant. 4000 revolutions per minute is 4000 revolutions every 60 seconds. That means my engine is rotating 67 full turns per second? 67 rotations per second seems like an unbelievable number. Is the crank shaft of my car really rotating 67 times per second?
