  • Carowinds amusement park for a 3yr old and 5yr old?

We are planning a trip to Charlotte, NC. We were thinking of taking the kids to Carowinds amusement park. The tickets are expensive so before we purchase them I was wondering if any of you have been? Is it worth taking kids that age or would they get more out of the experience at an older age. I know there will be alot of walking (stroller for the kids) and long lines but is there much to do for kids their age? Basically any info/ experience you had would be great appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Moms, i need help finding a good vaccum for my family!?

I have two small children and am needing to buy a new vaccum. I want to know if you LOVE the vaccum you have and the name of it. I dont want to think about my kids rolling around on dirty floors :( I always tend to buy vaccums that last about a year then loose suction and changing filters, etc.. dont seem to help. I was thinking about a dyson but the reviews are 50/50, some people love it and some hate it. I dont have pets but our house gets so dusty I have to dust at least twice a week and the kids are constantly bringing in dirt and sand. Any info would be great, Thank you :)

  • Anyone have kids that look completely different but same parents? for fun.?

My boys are both from same parents but my oldest has dark brown hair and hazel eyes like my husband and myself, my youngest son has blonde hair and blue eyes. He looks like my husband only with the wrong color hair and eyes. It must be recessive genes from one of our family lines. Does anyone else have something similar? Share :)

  • Bad/good idea to put kids names together to make another name?

We have decided that if we have a girl, we will name her Sydney but I am still a little stuck on a boys name....

I already have 2 boys, Carter and Mason. I was thinking about putting their names together and naming baby #3 Carson. My husband thinks it's a bad idea and wants to name a boy Seth. What do you think?

....will he hate that he didn't get his "own" name?

....do you think it would be cool, something that brings them all together as brothers?

  • Does the Ashley Spencer theory work?..."choose the gender of your baby"?

I read online about a lady named Ashley Spencer who says that in her book she will tell you how to concieve the baby of your choice. She claims to have an almost 95% success rate. I was wondering if any of you might have been one of the supposed 12,000 people she helped. Does is work??? Thanks

  • Anniversary weekend getaway, where to go?

My husband and I live in Jacksonville, NC. We are from the the west coast so now that we live on the east coast we would like to visit some of the cities nearby. We would be going for just a weekend so we want to visit someplace nearby. We were thinking about Asheville, NC or Charlotte, NC or even Charleston, SC. We would like to stay in a hotel near things to do so we can just walk. We want to walk around eat at some nice resturants that we do not have in our hometown and see some new things. My question is which town would you recommend? Are there specific areas to look for hotels at in these cities? Also, what are the must see or do's in the city you suggest? Thank you so much for all your help. P.S. I have looked up the info on my own but I would like some input from people who may have already visited these places and their thoughts. thanks again

  • Places to go for a weekend with a 2 and 4 year old?

I am from the west coast but currently live in Jacksonville North Carolina. Since I am not from around here I don't know what fun things there are to do that can include taking my kids with my husband and I. We want to go places within driving distance for a weekend, maybe an extended weekend. I have heard about Myrtle Beach and Busch Gardens (which are about 4 hours from me), what other (maybe cheaper) things are there to do, since Busch Gardens is $62 per adult, $52 per child and $12 for parking? I think Disney World might be something for when they get older. We really want to explore the east coast weekend by weekend so any suggestions would be great. Please don't be rude and give nasty answers. Thanks

P.S. We have been to the aquarium and zoo near by, but my kids love them so if you know of another that would be fun:) A show or amusement park or anything like that would be cool too:)

  • To have a joint party for kids or not?

I have 2 boys, my oldest will be turning 4 years on May 14 and my youngest son will be turning 2 years on March 14. We have never done "big" birthday party for them but I wanted to do a party this year. We have a huge yard and I want to do something out there. I would invite my parents and in laws, my sisters and their spouses as well as maybe 10 couples and their children, so nothing huge. My question is...since their birthdays are so close to eachother and the same couples would be invited to both, would it be unfair to my children to just have one combined party? If you were invited to a party would you rather go two seperate times within 2 months or just go once and celebrate both?

We live in a huge military town, so any ideas that could tap us into that would be great too. Does anyone have any good ideas or any web site suggestions for me to check out. • Maslow's hierarchy of needs? Please help?

I am writing my first college paper on Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I am familiar with his theory but am having a hard time starting my paper. What would be a good starter? Should I just jump right in and talk about survival (food) or should I start with an opener, maybe the definition of hierarchy even though the dictionary says "a group of persons or things arranged in order of rank, grade or class" Thank you for all your help:)

  • 41/2Month old acting abnormal, Please Help??

My 41/2 month old has been drooling the past few days and has had a low grade fever of 100.8 today. I assume he is teething. HOWEVER, this afternoon he was crying, stiffly arching his back and head as well as looking as far up as he could,(we could still see his eyes, so they were not rolled way back). This went on for a couple of minutes. He eventually started to look down at us again. His appetite has been slightly down today and tonight when i was feeding he dry heaved a few times then spit up/ threw up his milk. I am unsure if he was throwing up or just burping and happen to spit up some milk. Any ideas as to what it could be. Thank you for your help.
