I have always wanted to join the United States Coast Guard since I was little. I live near Air Station Elizabeth City. After high school, one day I made the decision that I was going to enlist in the USCG. I made an appointment with a recruiter and drove to the USCG recruitment center in Virginia. When I finished the medical forms that told me I could not enlist with the USCG for medical reasons due to past childhood illnesses. I talked to the head recruiter at the office and for the region. Both marking the same and saying no. They suggested I look into other branches of the military. But I'm wondering if I'd be rejected from them as well.

Also, I was told by a former recruiter to "wait two years and come back and reapply. They throw everything out and won't have record of your first attempt. And don't divulge information."
