  • Deadman's Cross Acct in Limbo?

One of my son's former class mates asked me to buy an iPad 3 for them, 32 GB version.

I did, but they didn't need it for a week, so I downloaded Deadman's Cross - the trading card fighting games about Zombies.

Anyway, I worked my way up the Bone Yard competition to an A+ ranking. In a couple days, I'd get some neat prizes. Unfortunately, I needed to wipe and erase the iPad, so my acct is in limbo. I have no idea where they'll send the awards. BTW, the iPad is boxed and shipped at this writing.

Can I start a new acct on a different device, or is it locked to the iPad's IMEI/MEID and MAC address?

Presume all is lost, which is okay, just a silly game, just wondering, . . .

  • Stolen Phone on Craigslist?

My son's phone was stolen in San Jose earlier today.

I kept an eye on Craigslist and sure enough it shows up.

Idiots kept the same colors and block arrangements, listed as "Bad ESN", asking $75 OBO.

This is a Nokia Windows phone list price close to $600.

    What should I do?

I'd love to contact the local police and meet with person in plane clothes.

Will the police help me, or just tell me to "handle it" myself?

Should we just meet with them, and after verifying it's really ours, to just take it and walk?

Should I offer them $40 and just buy it, no hassles?

Please advise. What would YOU do -- really, no BS.

  • Who do I contact to get a Certificate of Authenticity?

I have a Super Bowl XVI (16) football that has embossed on it

    "SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS WORLD CHAMPIONS"

This was the 1981 season, played on Jan 25, 1982

It has about 50 signatures from the team on it.

A set of these balls were randomly distributed to fans about February '82, so there were no certs accompanying any of them.

I'm 99.9% sure it's legit, I know the person I got it from - he got it from one of the 49er sports trainers on the team.

It's stored in an acid-free plastic bag, in a transparent football display case, UV resistant.

Questions; How do I go about getting a Certificate of Authenticity?

Is there a sports memorabilia specialist that performs this service?

How much is the cost to do so, and will the appraised value increase by at least that much?

I'm in the San Jose area.

Also, are there optimized ways to store the ball?

Example; sealed in nitrogen atmosphere to eliminate oxygen to better preserve the pigskin?

  • Can the Vet pull so many teeth?

We took our pug into a local Veterinary hospital because we saw a cavity on molar. The Vet and tech did a 15 minute evaluation and said the molar might be saved, but a small front tooth might need extraction.

I approved a teeth cleaning and possible extraction.

When we went to get the dog, they pulled 22 teeth!! At $49 per extraction plus the $300 for cleaning, it adds up.

Maybe they were right to pull all these teeth, but I would think they need to let know first.

They also sent is home without any pain meds. Should they have offered?

  • How Do I Get Heavy Cream Back Together Again?

I have about 8 ounces of heavy cream (36% buttercream) that I put in the freezer. It's in a small milk carton. After thawing, it looks like it's separating. I shook it vigorously for 30 seconds, but it's still very lumpy.

HOW CAN I GET THIS BACK AS A CREAM AGAIN?

Should I reheat it in a double boiler as in ice cream preparation to re-homogenize it?

Is it a goner, and should I just whip it into butter and buttermilk to salvage it?

    Suggestions?

  • Mustang 1967, used to start, now doesn't?

I'm helping a buddy restoring his 1967 Mustang. It would start with the ignition key last month, now the starter does not engage. We can turn on the ignition and jump (short) the two little leads on the starter relay (solenoid) and get it running. We checked that the starter relay is grounded properly, cleaned the all the contacts, . . . same problem. So we bought a new starter relay, carefully installed it. SAME PROBLEM, so we know it's not the relay (unless we got a bad relay out of the box). We removed the ignition switch, but not sure what to check on it. Could out problem be the switch? What else should we be checking?
