  • N/A what am I doing wrong?

    =VLOOKUP(A2,Media!$A$1:$B$4,1,False)

    table: Music

    A : B

    BJA: BARRY JACOBS & ASSOCIATES

    HAWT: HAWTHORNE COMMUNICATIONS, INC.

    COM: CHANNEL ONE MEDIA

    Table: Media

    A: B

    6315: AIN

    6316: HAWT

    6524: WSB-AM

    7191: DENTIST / HYGIENTIST

    In the Table Music I put the above formula. I am trying to get the number in column C from Media. I keep getting #N/A istead of 6316. I understand for areas they don't match. Why am I getting a #N/A? (everything is under the general format)

    Col A: Stations Name

    Col B: Invoice #

    Col C: Net Amount

    Col D: Invoice date (formatted mm/dd/yy: 01/17/2011, 1/23/2011, 03/25/2012, etc.)

    SpreadSheet 2:

    Col A: Station

    Col B: Blank

    Col C... Col S: Jan-11, Feb-11....Mar-12 (formatted 1/1/2011, 2/1/2011.....3/1/2012)

    I need a macro that will look for the station and match them. Then look at the date in spreadsheet 1 and match it with the month/year in spradsheet 2. Then post the invoice where the row and col match and If cell isn't blank to skip.

  • Excel 2007 Find and Move/replace macro?

    My work gave me a lot of raw data to make into a database/spreadsheet and only have excel to use.

    The goal is to figure out what contacts are missing invoices in which month and how many total invoices are missing in each month. I plan to use pivot tables.

    The setup:

    Column A (stations) has a list of names

    Column B (Hiding) Notes

    Column C - Q( Jan-11, Feb-11, ......, Mar-12) has the months

    Issue:

    The information about each invoice was combines into 1 cell per station. I got the cell split to each month we are missing. The cells are now in this format: [2011] January March [2012] January (each in it's own cell)

    Is there a way to have excel find a month where the month after cell [2011] and [2012] where station name and month-year match and input the station's name?

  • Is it to late to open a civil suit? Mass Law?

    July 2009 I was involved in a single car crash when I rolled my car.

    Background before the crash: I was working for Walmart during the time and we were a model store and had investors coming. So the management team asked me to clean and paint a machine used to mix paints in the hardware department. I asked for help however was declined. I worked the morning shift like normal but left early. however I couldn't get sleep before hand (I tried) and went to work for a 2nd shift in order to paint the machine. In total I was up for 25 hours, 18-20 hours of it I was working. When driving home I recall seeing a black figure which at the time I thought was an animal and trying to avoid it my tires lost contact with the road and went off the side of the road. There was constructed going on and I hit a small pile of sand that caused my car to roll once going about 30mph. Clearly I lived and my only real injury was a mild concussion and severe bruise to the leg. I thought about suing Walmart back then but was advice I didn't have a real case. It was just brought to my attention that the paint I used during that time actually absorbs though the skin and could of been the reason I saw the black figure.

    Key note:

    I worn a mask and gloves during the time of painting however ran out of time and when putting the machine back together, I got some on my hands and arms. I was in an inclosed space since the outside had no lighten and I was using a spray can. The can did have a warning on it (which my friend was the one who just noticed it the other day) however I didn't realize it could absorb though the skin after it almost dried.

    Why I am asking: since the accident I still have leg issues and will still see these back figures which I never had before the accident. Is it to late to open a claim, should I even bother trying to contact a lawyer? during the time I let my mother handle it and clearly she didn't handle it right and now years later I clearly taking control of my life and seeing if this is one issue I can reclaim

  • need help finding a name of an old TV show?

    I recall back in middle school watching a show about a teenage in current time (1990'a) falling into a portal and being sent back in time to a mid-evil time era. He meets a young lady and teams up with her in hopes to fight some magical people. I recall him first making an impression to the young lady because an eclipse occured and once he said it would disappear after few moment, it did and she thought he was a god or magical. Later into the series, the 2 of them actually went back to the current time where she became the person out of place.

    I recall watching the 1st or 2nd season buffy the vampire slayer so I assume it came out within that time.

    I hope this is enough but if you need me to narrow it down more, feel free to ask me a question and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

  • legally what can I do when my car gets blocked in by other cars: Massachusetts?

    This happened to me this morning and legally I wasn't sure if I could do anything.

    Setup. I parked on a public street and can to park anywhere as long as I don't block a driveway or where there is a town permit sign saying no parking. The place I park in is the space before of these sign where only a resident of that property can park.

    The issue. When I came outside to my spot, a car pulled up to my bumper facing the same direction as me and the other guy facing the other direction pulled up to front bumper. Now after bumping them few times, I was able to get out with no damage to any cars but legally if I did do damage I'm sure I would of been at fault (correct me if I'm wrong). I am not sure if there any legal ways I could of got the car moved if this happens again. Also, I once heard parking facing the opposite way of how the traffic moves on that side of the road is against the law but I can not find any facts about that, someone know where this is stated or how to locate if this is true?

  • When I sneeze, my arms become weak and hurt.. Why?

    Years ago when I sneezed one arm became weak and hurt a little. Today though, when I sneeze, both arms go almost dead and hurt for about 5 minutes. I mean it is a bad pain. Why is this happening and is there anything I can do to prevent this? I have asked my doctor in the past and they never gave me a straight answer (which is probably why that are no longer my doctor).

  • Sorting key word cells in Excel and copy to new worksheet in correct columns?

    Worksheet 1: Column setup

    A: Last Name

    B: First Name

    C: E-mail

    D: Location

    E: Division

    F: Department

    G:Title

    H:Device

    I:Have Device (Yes or No)

    Worksheet 2: Column setup

    A: E-mail

    B: Division

    C: Department

    D: Device

    Right now E-mails that are in worksheet 1 are linked with e-mails in worksheet 2 and information already generates. However there are about 200 e-mail ending with @consultantemail.com that are not in worksheet 1. I need to get those to get sorted from Worksheet 2 and added to worksheet 1 and then have it also copy over the Division, Department, and Device to the correct column. Macro preferred since other people will be using this sheet after my contract is up.

  • Drunk Driving murder case in Mass?

    My step Aunt was involved in a car crash with a drunk driver who was kicked out of a bar, got into his truck and went into her lane and hit her head on. she was critical but survive. 3 weeks later, last weekend, she dropped dead from a blood clot that was cause by the accident.

    Even though I wasn't close to her, I know my half-siblings were and they are looking at me as the older brother for answers and I want to give them something. What should we expect, meaning will he be charge with murder, will he liking face jail and for about how long? Assuming this was his first offense, I assume that it won't be life in jail but i'm not sure what level of murder he will be charge with and seeing what would be the most common outcome in cases like theses.

  • Macro correction Excel 2003 Find and Replace?

    This is the code I have Recorded:

    Sub ReplaceName()

    '

    ' ReplaceName Macro

    ' Macro recorded 4/19/2012 by ******

    '

    ' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+R

    '

    Cells.Replace What:="Joe", Replacement:="Joseph", LookAt:=xlPart, _

    SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _

    ReplaceFormat:=False

    Cells.Replace What:="Jim", Replacement:="James", LookAt:=xlPart, _

    SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _

    ReplaceFormat:=False

    Cells.Replace What:="Margaret", Replacement:="Peggy", LookAt:=xlPart, _

    SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _

    ReplaceFormat:=False

    Cells.Replace What:="Ben", Replacement:="Benjamin", LookAt:=xlPart, _

    SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _

    ReplaceFormat:=False

    Cells.Replace What:="Jeff", Replacement:="Jeffrey", LookAt:=xlPart, _

    SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _

    ReplaceFormat:=False

    End Sub

    It does what I need except 1 glitch. Using the name Matt, I run the Macro and I get Matthew. This is correct. However lets say I added a new person on the list name Matt and I run the Macro again. The newest Matt with turn into Matthew however the old Matthew turns into Matthewhew. I see what it is doing, it is looking for Matt which Matt (hew) and adds Matthew (hew) creating Matthewhew. How can I fix the formula above to prevent this?

  • Vlookup or Index : Need help : Excel 2003?

    I have 2 worksheets.

    Worksheet 1 has employees names and their titles at my place of business

    Worksheet 2 has employees names and their mobile devices.

    They both have a primary key of LastnameFirstname or LastNameMIFirstname if 2 people have the same name.

    I am trying to get the mobile device column from worksheet 2 into worksheet 1.

    My problem is I can not get it to look for the matching pimary key and post the device that matches that key and I need it to skip any keys that do not match. I thought a Vlookup or an index but each time it doesnt skip the mismatches and once it runs into that issue, it just posts what it feels like and I end up with the last 30 people on my list with no mobile device and a bunch of incorrect matches between names and devices.

    This is what I currently tried: =IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(J2,'Employees Compiled List'!$A$2:$C$2500,2,FALSE)),'Mobile List Macro'!B:B,VLOOKUP(J2,'Employees Compiled List'!$A$2:$C$2500,2,FALSE)) and it started off correctly but the first mismatch it kept posting from the list as if it was correct. I have 1740 device and at row 1740 it stop posting devices and the rest of the employees it gave me a "0" result

  • Can my roommate move out with our lease in Mass?

    I live in Massachusetts. My 2 roommates were a couple and all three of our names were on the lease. I just learned he never signed the lease which is odd since I was force too sign (by the land lord and I moved in a month after they did. Well my roommates broke up 2 weeks ago and he moved out without me knowing until he was moving his stuff out a week ago. With the 2 of us left my rent jumped up $300 more monthly and I really can't afford this difference. Is my roommate who moved out still require to pay his rent or the fact he never signed the contract means it is not 100% complete and voided since his name is on it and he never signed?

  • Excel 2003: comparing and updating similar spreadsheets?

    (I do not have access to Access)

    Main Issue:

    I have 3 spreadsheets. Each have a Last name and a First name. The main sheet is a little out of date and I need to update it using the other 2 sheets which have between 2000-2500 rows. I have tried few formulas however I can only compare each column and need it so it looks at both A,B at the same time to find difference (ex. There are several Brians (First name),only one Walsh and several Weavers(Last names), Brian Weaver left but Will Weaver is here and Brian Walsh is here. So it is coming back saying there is a Brian and a Weaver but I need it to say there is no Brian Weaver)

    If you want to help with the full problem:

    Main sheet and new contact list: I needs to find a way for it to compare Last (column A) "and" First (Column B) names for any difference. Delete any employees who left (Are not in the New Contact List)and add any new employees not found in the main sheet and their 3 other columms (D,E,F) from the New Contact list to the Main Sheet.

    Main Sheet and Mobile Devices: I need them to compare names (Column A(Last), B(First)) if they have a mobile device (Yes or No, Column H), and Input mobile name (Column G).

    It sounded simple until I learned I couldn't use SQL or ACCESS and Excel 2003 was a little before the time I started to use Excel.

  • Will Taking a Full time Seasonal Job effect my Unemployment income. (Mass)?

    With the holiday season coming up I'm finding that I don't have enough income to help me pay my bills while I look for a stable job. I was offered a job at UPS as a full time Driver helper. However they stated the hours are going to be random (meaning 32-40 hours a week) and the pay is lot less then what I made before. If I work the 40 hours a week I will make $50 more a week after taxes which helps. I know if this was part-time and was less then what my unemployment income I could collect the differenct.

    If this is a Full time job (even seasonally), will I lose my chance to collect still after the 3 weeks over?

  • Speeding Ticket in Mass- stand a chance if i fight it?

    So I want to fight this speeding ticket and looking for ideas or if anyone has information I can refer to to help build a case.

    My Version:

    Yesterday I was traveling on the mass pike (RT 90) I started from Framingham and was going Eastbound to go to Logan Airport to pick up my parents. I sat in traffic for just shy of 2 hours. 1 mile from the exit the traffic broke and I proceeded to pick up speed. Approx. 400 ft I went around a turn and about 200 ft in front of me was a black car. Being in the first lane and seeing that, I started to hit my breaks and slow down to pass it. Then the door opened and some guy stepped in front of my car and pointed me to pull over in front of his car.

    After a closer look I saw it was a cop (notice the car is still dark and no lights are on, even the red and blue). At first I thought it was one of those fake cops but he seemed real when he talked to me. He asked me how fast I was going which the posted speed is 45 and I said i'm not sure I just started to pick up speed. He stated I was going 62 MPH. Which took me by surpise since 2 cars had just passed me in the left lane and I just got out of 15 mph traffic just 600ft back. He then got in his car with my information and as he left his car he proceeded to point at someone else and had them pull over in front of me. Then he walks up to my car gives me my stuff back and says the citation has all the information on the back and walked off before I could even ask him anything (like seeing the radar gun) nor did he have me sign anything. Being already 30 minutes late picking up my parents (which I just told them l will be there in 5 minutes right before i got pulled over) I couldn't wait for him to deal with the other guy then come back to me.

    My first ticket ever in my 9 years of driving. So I have no idea what to do. (I didn't know what a LIDAR was) and I strongly believe I was not going above the speed limit which is not enough to prove otherwise :(

    My questions:

    If he was using a LIDAR (which I just learned what that was), how can my speed be estimated as both were checked in my citation?

    Is it possible the LIDAR picked up the one of the other 2 cars that had just passed me 5 seconds ago and were ahead of me going around the corner. (I would like a link if possible if LIDER has any faults or has been cases it has failed)

    Can a cop pull me over and give me a cituation without using his lights (including not having his red and blues on) on a major highway, in bad weather conditions, dimmly lit, and hidden around a corner? (which was a very dangerous situtation for both him and I) (although it was at the entrance of a tunnel so weather may not count)

    On my citiation, he hand written my ticket with a doctor scratch writing. The state section that should be MA looks like ^* and the 9 in my license looks like a 7 (like the other two 7 in my license) and some of it is not even readable like my address. Can I use that as a dismissal?

    If any of those question above won't help me, is there anything that can help or how should I handle the appeal of the ticket so it doesn't hurt my insurance nor cost me $150.
