What is the rule for driving w/o plates after purchase?
So we purchased a used car yesterday for one of the boys. I call the DMV, explain we are purchasing a used vehicle from a private party and can we drive it home without plates? They tell me we can drive it without plates for 24 hours max. So I go to pick it up w/son, we r driving home & yes, he gets pulled over. The police officer indicated the dmv gave us the wrong info, thankfully he was nice enough not to give him a ticket. Anyone have this experience?
