Do they actually mean it if they aren't laughing out loud at the jokes?

Ok, so I'm trying to write this story that just came to me, but I need to plan it out before I type it up. So, what are some things I can do to pre-write this? I'm trying to make it a story that lasts a whole school year, begining to end. I already have the plot, characters figured out, I even wrote a quick bio for each character as a reference for me as I write. So any tips on how to go about pre-writting?

I was in math this morning, and when this one girl asked this guy in my class why he was wearing red, he said it was because he didn't have any black. I saw a lot of people wearing black shirts, and even my Soc teacher was! Is there some reason that people are that I don't know about?

I'm in my junior year and will be a senior next year. I have never really played organized football before, though I have played the sport. I have tossed the football around at the beach and recently played touch football in gym a couple months ago. I was shocked when I scored a touchdown after being thrown the ball from half field. So mostly I wanna tryout for the team for my senior year. I'm around 160 lbs and 5'5. So mostly, I'm wondering what I should expect from tryouts (if we even have them) and what position I should try out for. I'm not really the most athletic, but I can be. I'm willing to work hard and take the contact hits that come with the game.
