If it is 2pm in eastern sandard time what would that be in eastern daylight savings time 1pm or 3pm?
For some reason I can't wrap my brain around this. I have a scheduled meeting with someone on Skype at 2pm (not today thankfully). Their profile said they schedule in EST. Assuming they haven't adjusted for daylight savings when shoul I expect to meet them?

2 AnswersPsychology12 months agoHow do you know when to shift positions when playing a score?
I'm learning the cello (though this applies to many instruments) and this one piece I'm learning I've been playing in first position however all the youtube videos I've seen of others playing the same piece they all shift and, being a beginner (who really shouldn't be playing the pieces I do) it got me wondering how do you know when to shift?
3 AnswersClassical1 year agoDoes this clock radio take an external antenna and if so what connection does it take?
I got the clock radio at a thrift store. It has a "fm" port, which is a small male connection not much bigger that the 3.5 mm "line in" cable pictured on the far right. If that port means that it takes an external antenna what sort of connection does it need? Thanks for any help.
3 AnswersAdd-ons2 years agoWhen to use vibrato (applies to all bowed string instrument players)?
Greetings, I am a self taught violin player (due to a disability which limits playing) and I have recently developed a vibrato I am quite pleased with (sound speaking) . The pitiful part about it is I never use it because I don't know when I should. With that said, is their some formula or advice you can offer when best to use it i.e. when it would sound most pleasing until I develop my own confidence and flair after all the only way to get comfortable with it is to use it right?. The only answer I could find on Google was all the time but to me I find that to be a bit much. any advice would be appreciated beyond measure. Thanks.
1 AnswerHomework Help2 years agoBest telescope mounts for larger telescopes?
Greetings, though I am still a beginner astronomer my mom has just bought me, as a gift, a new 12" Newtonian telescope, however, it doesn't come with a mount. Being a beginner I don't know much about those beastly large ones. To my understanding it is good for deep sky with a lower f/4 number so, with that said, I am interested in a mount that will satisfy for longer exposures, like upwards of a half an hour for such photographing as I don't plan on buying another down the road. What type of mount would be good for this heavy (weighs 40 lbs) scope with some sort of tracking for those longer exposures? Any advice is appreciated, thanks. If it helps, this is the scope she bought me; https://optcorp.com/collections/telescopes/product...
3 AnswersAstronomy & Space3 years agoLooking for a free windows 7 weather app with a few unique specs...?
I'm a amateur astronomer which uses a free program on windows 7 called Stellarium to shows what sort of activity is happening in the cosmos (I use its time lapse feature especially to see when a planet appears above the horizon say). A software tool I find lacking is a more down to earth weather program with a similar time lapse feature. As an example, Stellarium is telling me Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are visible this morning at 5 am. Though the desktop weather app I use now is telling me that it is going to cloud up in the early morning. The issue is I can't find any program sensitive enough to give me a more precise prediction. Will it cloud before or after 5 am? I really don't want to lose sleep if it will be in vain. It is a program (where I can customize my location obviously) capable of telling me when these clouds will roll in more accurately that I seek. I'm sorry if I sound redundant, I am finding it difficult to explain. I hope I made myself clear. I look forward to and thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.
1 AnswerSoftware3 years agoWhat would be the best eyepiece for my telescope?
I just got a new telescope for Christmas (it came with a 10 and 20mm eyepiece). I, though, want to invest in a great eyepiece for the best experience and am getting frustrated trying to understand what one would be best. It has a 1000mm focal length (f/9) 114 mm 4.5 aperture reflective telescope (according to the manual) and a 1.25 barrel it is made by Celestron if that matters. I'm hoping someone who understands these numbers better could offer recommendations for the best experience I can get out of my new scope. Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersAstronomy & Space3 years agoThis is a crazy one... I want to know what the experience of childbirth is like...?
I will first start by saying, I am a year shy of thirty not a nosy ten year old. I ask because I am a writer and they say write about what you know, well... due to my poor health there is no possibility (even if I wanted to) to have such an experience of childbirth. Somehow or another during writing one day my creativity got the best of me, I lost control of my pen and, lo and behold, now a character is pregnant... and very shortly will be in labor... oh boy. Anyways, I know this is awkward (even for me to ask it) regardless, though memories tend to fade I am hoping to have different perspectives (even from the husband's point of view or the parent holding the daughter's hand during delivery). Since juveniles may read this try to keep any gore to a minimum. Though things like how did you experience the pain, did you want revenge on the man that did this to you or thank god for the whole experience, just to get the juices flowing. For the record, I did ask my mom but that was thirty years ago so I know her memories have faded not to mention a bit biased. Anyways, whatever you're comfortable sharing would be wonderful as there's nothing like first hand experience. Thanks in advance, Black_Lightning.
4 AnswersPregnancy4 years agoCan the paint job in my car even be saved?
Okay, not too long back I got my car in a bit of a fender bender. Since I have financial woes I couldn t afford a pro, not to mention he said to paint it he d have to pull off my 1000 dollar advertising vinyl, no thanks. This left but one choice, I had to do it alone. Using books as my knowledge of cars is limited, I managed to pound out the worst of the dents which don t look too bad, I used that dupi-cllour car paint from Canadian Tire, feathered it not to bad and then gave it a good buffing of wax. It shined up to an acceptable level and all was fine. Then last night we had a wicked rain storm. I wake up this morning and the entire repair job is chalky white! What did I do wrong and more importantly, can it even be saved?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs6 years agoto all who play computer games of any genre on a pc...?
I know what a silly thing I am going to ask but I will briefly explain why. I am coding a flash game for my website and I am trying to decide the most efficient keyboard layout for my controls. I move a character so obviously the arrow keys to move (or wasd), and spacebar to jump. Those I have kinda set in stone. What I am more thinking is like, attacks, pause menus, that sort of stuff. What sort of controls do your favorite games use, name any game or better yet many games and their controls. If your game has a special feature like accessing items or spells, whatever. I'd love to hear about them too. I really appreciate any feedback. Most of the games I play are on the wii so I can't even answer my own question. Thanks in advance to all who offer a response.

1 AnswerBooks & Authors8 years agodragon warrior/dragon quest enthusiasts?
okay a long time ago I inherited a game called Dragon Warrior for the NES, I was very young at the time and being so, it took a long time for me to best it. But I loved every minute of my ongoing project of levelling up. Then about two years ago I was discussing with a college girlfriend about the series and she said that they were up to like 8 or 9 in the series and they are now renamed Dragon Quest. Sitting here now, I'd like to give mom an early xmas shopping list as moms starting to consider gifts and all. Unfortunately this is hard to do when I know no more of the games after the first dragon warrior. I guess in all my ramblings I am asking, what were the names of all in the series up to the current date (obviously american publications) and what systems are they played on. Thanks for your time.
1 AnswerPC9 years agoI'm looking for specific information on medieval weaponry...?
Okay, below I have provided a couple of images as an example. I am searching for a book or website covering all of the weapons used in the medieval times in an encylopedia-like fashion displayed like the sword and knight are displayed in the pictures below. I was hoping someone may have come across such a resource. thanks in advance for your help. Basically a super detailed glossary of terms.
2 AnswersHistory9 years agochipmunks into my pumpkins! Pease help?
okay, I've never grown pumpkin plants before. this year I've decided to try, so I've been babying them since February. earlier this week I just noticed two females which I fertilized. They took, as the ovary is now the size of a golfball. Much to my dismay, I spotted a mischievous chipmunk snooping into the plants. My questions to you is, will the chipmunk eat the maturing pumpkins or do it any harm for that matter? If so, is there something I can put on or around the plant/pumpkin to keep it away? Thanks for your time
2 AnswersGarden & Landscape9 years agoconfusing video card results....?
I have two video cads I've been trying to run simultaneously, the primary video card is an NVIDIA Geforce 9500 GS which I believe is 512 mb and the secondary cheapo card is a ATI Rage XL Pro 8MB
when running as the geforce as primary the ATI provides a "this device cannot start (code 10)" error. However if I run the ATI as primary card the device manager details say "this device is functioning normally" and when in the device manager under display adapters, I cannot see the nvidia at all. Now I can't help be puzzled. HMMM! Hopefully someone has a clue how to run both displays at once. Thanks ahead of time.
1 AnswerOther - Hardware9 years agosetting up three monitor display?
okay I've been doing a ton of reading and was prepared for trouble, but with this one particular pc, trouble doesn't begin to describe what I've been through. I'm running a win 7 I have a video card with a DVI VGA and HDMI port, I've tried with no extra video card just the one supporting all three displays and it behaved the same way that it did after I poped in a cheapo twenty dollar video card, which is a basic pci (the good quality is a PCI express 13). I am able to go in the bios and choose which card I want to run from so I know the pc sees them both. When on the primary card screens 1 and 2 work or if I switch to the secondary card screen 3 works, for some reason I can't get them displaying three screens simultaneously. The closest I got is running on the primary card I got the display to "pick up" card 2's signal I have a greyed out third monitor icon when I click on the third (greyed out) monitor and select extend my desktop, monitor two will become greyed out and disabled, it just goes back and forth like that. I can't get them both. This is the same that happened when I had all three ports running on the primary card (VGA, DVI, HDMI). Please any thoughts, I can't stand having this monitor sitting in the corner going to waste. The next thing I was going to try is running one of the monitors on the onboard display port (I doubt this will work going by what people say.) Thanks for your time.
2 AnswersMonitors9 years agowhy do springs in wind up toys break?
okay I've been doing some reading (and yes I'll admit, tinkering) and have you ever took a wind up toy and over wound it? Whats really happening? I pulled one apart that my nephew over wound and the spring (I guess its a Torsion spring) looks fine yet when I go to wind it it doesn't wind up anymore. I'd like to try and fix it, but the spring is just not....cooperating Any thoughts, whats really happening?
Thanks in advance
9 AnswersEngineering9 years agoI bought the Zinwell ZAT-970A converter hooked it up all my channels are fuzzy?
okay I hooked up a similar model for my gran a couple months back, it worked fine (she uses an outdoor antenna). Now my mom decided she wants my 100 year old bunny ears hooked up. just plugging the bunny ears in I get 2 channels right away, mind you they're a little fuzzy now I plug in the converter. those same 2 channels are non existent, just fuzz. Ive already talked to the guys at the source who recommended a couple things. nothings working. The only difference I noticed between my converter and my grans is hers has a analog/digital button on the remote that the model I bought doesn't but I really don't think that matters. You have any thoughts
1 AnswerOther - Electronics10 years agois there a download manager that behaves like bit torrent for direct downloads?
okay I bought a program from a company they gave me a link to download it. It is a large download and with ny hectic life I'm never on one pc for long periods. is there a program (preferably that is compatible with both pc and mac) that allows me to stop downloads at any time leave a part file on my key that I can resume downloading later maybe on a different machine? You know how bit torrent works, like that but for online downloads like rapid share or company websites etc.
