  • What does it mean when a presiding judge grants a leave?

My daughter filed for sole custody of her son. She's a certified Medical Technician, works two jobs and has been the sole support of her son since his birth. The father hasn't paid out a dime for his son and yet, he claimed him on his taxes. The IRS is doing the investigation. A question was raised about my daughter's post traumatic stress disorder because of the loss of her first son(that father shook and threw him at the age of 2 1/2 months old). She had therapy and the doctor said that she had to attend a few sessions. The respondent claimed that my daughter wasn't psychologically fit to be a parent, yet this man has a pending "Class C" felony assault through the Grand Jury for beating up the woman that he was cheat with against my daughter.

Well, the document for her therapy was enter into her file, and the respondent hasn't even submitted a financial statement of what he's contributed towards his son. The next court date is at the end of the month. But today we went on the Online Case.net and the order stated "LEAVE IS GRANTED TO PETITIONER TO FILE 1ST AMENDED PETITION AND ANSWER TO RESPONDENT'S CROSS-PETITION. BY CONSENT OF PARTIES, PETITIONER IS GRANTED LEAVE TO REMOVE DOCUMENTS SHE FILED WITH THE COURT. SO ORDERED:"

  • Who thinks that Phylis is getting what she deserves on Y&R?

The only way Phyliss has been able to get a husband is by stealing one, right from the beginning. And why is everyone angry at Christine? She and Paul have every right to be angry. I swear the Y&R writers need to fire themselves.

  • How do I file an out of court settlement with the IRS?

March 18, 2010 - I had an injury that caused my hand to be partially detached. My hand was rebuilt with metal and pins. I had absolutely no income and was forced to live with my parents. I have since been to a disability hearing, and haven't heard anything. But I have received an out of court settlement and after all of the expenses, I didn't receive much.

What form do I file with and what type of 1099 will it come in? I was very fortunate because this happened at a not for profit Bible college that I was attending and could've received nothing.

  • What's with you some-timey teenagers?

I posted this question some time ago, to an earlier group of youngsters and parents. Let me hear from some more of you.

While house cleaning, I like to have a little fun. So I turn on the music while everyone is out and I dance and sing while I clean. While I'm in the middle of a good Tina Turner's version of Proud Mary, I'm rudely interrupted by my daughter and her friends. My daughter's friends laugh and they join in, but my daughter says "Mom, stop! Don't ever do that again!"

I look at her and say "what? At least I didn't drop it like it's hot!" She rolls her eyes and motions her friends into her room. I usually shake my head and laugh and continue on. Any of you ever experienced this?

  • Is the practice of "Honesty is the best policy" dead?

Yesterday, I went to my exercise/nutrition class at the Veterans Hospital. Because of my status we are paid 41.5 cents per mile reimbursement at the cashier. My reimbursement was $15.77. When I got out, I went to a Quiktrip for a fountain drink. I was hoping they weren't out of my "Rooster Booster" drink. I purchased a 32 ounce of that drink, three lotto tickets and two Charms Blow Pops for my two grandchildren. My purchase came to $4.04. I had a ten dollar bill, a five dollar bill and the seventy-seven cents in my purse. I took out the five dollar bill and gave it to the cashier who in turn gave me $5.96. I was supposed to receive .96 cents back. I told this to the cashier but she swore up and down that I had given her two five dollar bills. I tried to argue with her about it but she told me that everything would be alright. So, I left with the knowledge that she would have a short drawer cash drop. My daughter, who was out in the car, told me I should've forced the issue. I tried.

But, later that evening, my youngest daughter needed a ride home from work. After I dropped her off, I stopped by the same Quiktrip and ask to speak to the clerk on duty after a rush crowd left out of the store. I asked about the cashier and described her. I explained what had happened and she told me that the cashier was short by $34.00. I told her I was there to give the $5.00 back and hopefully that would help. This cashier smiled as did the the rest of the customers that had come in and she handed me a two coupon books. The first one, had five free coupons for a fountain drink of any size.

The second coupon book had five coupons for any free sandwich. Combined, both books well over $5.00.

I told my family and then one of my five daughters told me that she wouldn't have taken the money back. But I still feel good about what I did. What is your opinion? Do you think "Honesty is still the best policy?"

  • Do you have one of these in your family?

When I was about eight years old, I visited my uncle in Detroit with my family. While we were in his back yard, my uncle started shooting at squirrels in his backyard. He used a BB gun. Us kids saw this while we sat on his back porch with him. I was horrified! Those poor squirrels! After about an hour of shooting, he collected about five dead squirrels and skinned them and made squirrel stew.

That was one meal I refused to eat. Of course, since I'm 51 years old now, I regard squirrels as mice with furry tails.

Anyone out there remember a relative that was like mine?

  • Does anyone even care if Donald Trump drops out of a race he had no chance of winning?

I find that Donald Trump is a very petty individual. He had no business demanding any birth certificate of the President! Let us not forget that Ivanna Trump is not American. She was born in Gottwaldov, Czechoslavakia(now Zlin, Czech Republic). Does that mean that Donald's children aren't? This is exactly what he was saying about President Obama, regarding his parents. If he wasn't american he wouldn't have been a Senator. This type of focus was not given to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was born in Thal, Austria and had no business being California's Governor. But since he married into the Kennedy clan, this made him automatically a politician? Oh, I know that he has a college degree. But since he was born a foreigner are we to doubt that his children are American? Come on! And this sexual deviant was allowed to stay in office!

It didn't stop there! Then he attacked President Obama's grades in college. Donald's time should be spent on learning what the word loyalty mean's. He had no loyalty to the wives that he married or the children that came from those marriages. He's supposed to be Roman Catholic and married three times. What a crock! While I on loyalty, he was affiliated with the Republican Party from 1987- 1999, the Reform Party from 1999- 2000, the Democratic Party 2001 - 2009. Then he switched back to Republican in 2009 up until now?

It seems to me, that Donald Trump's time would be utilized best, finding a cure for the carpet on his head.

  • What goes well with cottage cheese?

After going through a supra cervical hysterectomy, I find that my taste in food has changed slightly. The smell of chicken turns my stomach. It was three weeks ago (April 14, 2011) when I had the surgery. Somehow I've developed a taste for cottage cheese. I've never tasted it before but when one of my daughters moved in I tasted it and liked it. What would go will with cottage cheese?

  • What exercises should I do after a supra cervical hysterectomy?

I had a supra cervical hysterectomy last Thursday on the April 14. The sutures weren't so bad but the abdominal gas was painful. The bottom part around the sutures(bikini line) was numb only one day after the surgery and is still numb. But while I'm still numb around the sutures I still feel itching that I can't scratch. Not only did my fibroid tumors grow back that I had removed in June 2001, but my uterus was the size of a 14 week pregnancy (endometriosis). I'm 51 years old and I'm the mother of five daughters and two granddaughters.

This procedure was decided because my stomach wouldn't go down even after joining CURVES, or running. By the way when I ran, it felt like a ball was bouncing in my stomach. Strangers used to approach me, smile and tell me, " Congratulations! When are you due?" Well it's all gone now! It's been a week. The doctor said my healing process will be duration of 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, what type of exercises should I start out with? By the way I'm 5' 2" and weighed I58 pounds before the surgery. I weigh 144 pounds today. My appitite has changed drastically! And the smell of chicken now turns my stomach. Is this temporary?

  • Does this take nerves or what?

Last year, I almost lost my hand. I broke it in three places when I fell while painting. I've been out of work for over a year. I was awaiting disability, but my attorney just informed me of my settlement. My daughters were there with me and my parents. The amount was enough to where I can invest in an interest bearing account and retire.

Here is the situation. I was divorced three years ago. I wasn't awarded child support, but my ex-husband was awarded the orthodontist bill for our youngest daughter which was $5750.00. He paid it and left a balance of $2509.00 after he went to jail (60 days). He totaled his car and the other driver's car. He was fortunate because his employer decided not to let him go.

The orthodontist served me with papers and wanted to sue me since I was the one who initialized the contract. I had no problem with this, but I let them know that I couldn't do anything yet and we made an agreement to meet in three months to check my status. This was last month. Not to mention that my ex-spouse is an alcoholic and chemically dependent and had been a deadbeat dad most of my five daughters lives. Our daughters are now grown. I put them through college without his help and partially raised my granddaughters.

He is now sickly and this is threatening whether or not he can work. My second youngest daughter is the only one that gets along with him. She told him about my attorney's call to me and about how excited I was about the call. Later on in the evening, I received a call from him asking me if I can help him with $5000.00 because he's behind on bills due to him having to catch up after being in jail.

I'm a christian woman, but told him that I fail to see where he's my problem. He's had a girlfriend for 10 years and they have a child together. He couldn't help me raise our five daughters because of his addictions and I was left with the bills. I told him I couldn't morally help him. I had to struggle with five daughters without his help. He will have to do without my help.

He's also behaving nicer. My fiance is reserving his opinion, but told me to watch out for sharks.

I let my daughter know that what happens and what's said in my home stays in my home or she doesn't get to visit. This is a rule that I've always told my children and grandchildren. Needless to say this caused a phone call from his mother to plead with me. I haven't even received this settlement yet. But I know he's not getting any of it!

  • What can I expect for a settlement?

March 18, 2010, I suffered a compound break of my wrist. The radius was broken in one place and the ulna bone was broken in two places and protruded out by 2 inches. I was the eeriest sight I'd ever seen. And my hand was partially detached. Two months after my accident, my disability was denied. I was told that it would be over a year until I get some usage out of my hand. When I fell, my wrist broke my fall. My Hospital bill was over $31,000, paramedic van was $2314, anesthesia $980, and my x-rays were $183.00. I'm told that I'd only have 80% usage of my wrist back and I'm not able to form a whole fist. My wrist was completely rebuilt with metal and screws. Although the one screw on the outside seems to protrude and stretch my skin a little further out. The school that I was doing work at stated that they didn't have insurance to cover my fall. We as students were required to work our lab week at a ministry of our choosing. The dean told me that the insurance only covered actual workers on the campus, not students that were required to work on the campus. This was required for our grade. I found out through my attorney that the college did cover students. With all that has happened, what is a reasonable settlement to agree on?

  • How do I find funding for myself after an accident?

I recently had a serious fall while painting (March 18,010). I had a compound break and my right wrist. My ulna bone broke in two placeprotruded bone portruded out of the skin by two inches. The radius bone was broken in one place and my hand was partially detached and hanging off. My wrist has been completely rebuilt via reconstructiversurgury (metal and pins). I go to theraphy twice a week. I was attending school at the time where this accident happened and was due to go back to work the following week, after lab week.

The problem is, no one wants me working for them and I wear a wrist brace to support my wrist since the cast and stitches were removed in June. I still can't make a fist and my fingers are still swollen. I can't get unemployment, I can't get assistance from the state(Missouri) unless I had a child under the age of 18. I'm 51, my 5 daughters are grown, and I'm not about to have another baby just for asstistance. I'm pending disability and my personal injury case is still in its early stage that I don't even qualify for a loan pending a settlement. Does anyone know where I can find help financially? This has also left me with a $31,107.70. It doesn't include the anesthesia bill which is $984.87. Your information will be greatly appreciated.

  • What is a structured settlement?

I was told that I could receive a loan on my structured settlement. My suit has yet to be determined due to a compound break in three places in my wrist. And how much do these places let you borrow?

  • Why do these dead beat dad's come out of the woodworks to claim their children win they become famous?

I can't stand these dead beat dad's. Every time child becomes successful and they were raised by a single mother, here comes the so-called dad, wanting to get in. Can you believe that Lebron Jame's supposed dad is coming out and suing Lebron and his mother for falsifying a paternity results. Whatever! Where was this clown when Lebron was growing up? This man is a lawyer and 55 years old. Lebron's mother was 15 at the time. Lebron is 25 years old, so that would make this dad want to be 30 years old when he impregnated Lebron's mother. And he's suing for $15,000,000? What an shame. Rebecca Demornay, Dean Cain, Christy Brinkley, and Shaquille O'neal are just a few who have dead beat dads that tried to ride on their coat tales. Not one cent came from them to support the mothers to raise these kid's. Tsk!
