The manufacturer's website says that it will as well as other auto part sites. Before I drop $300 on a battery, I want to see if anyone has personal experience.

I understand that it is hard to turn large crankshafts and that batteries are not at there best when it is cold outside.

I have a CCA that is supposed to be 700.

It starts fine after running/charging for a period of time. The longer the wait in between starts the harder it is to start.

When the battery was drained as much as it could be, jumping resulted in starting the vehicle but it kept shutting off if I didn't push the accelerator.

If the battery is never drained, this issue does not occur and has not in any other circumstance than having a drained battery.

It runs fine. 13MPG is not really "fine" but up to specs. No hesitations, smooth and nothing mechanical seems to be at fault.The headlights dim (normal, I presume) when starting. Turning off all electronics seems to lower the number of attempts needed to start it. All the dashboard lights dim when starting it.

I don't know how old the battery is only that it is aftermarket and looks at least five years old (owned 1.5 years).

Does it sound like the battery is not holding its charge?

I appreciate some advice.

I have a 2002 Chevy S10 4x4.

It will not start at the initial turn of the key.

It starts generally on the second turn

It started doing this as the weather got cooler.

Battery's fine.

Fluids fine.

My best guess is a compression/oil distribution problem.

What do I fix?
