  • Access internet without a laptop mouse?

My husband's HP Pavillion is equipped with the Synaptics Pointing Device and he also uses a USB mouse.

Tonight he turned on the computer and neither of them work. I know we need to go to the HP website and download the driver for the Synaptics mouse, but how do you do that if you don't have a working mouse?

    Thanks in advance.

  • My 15 YO is babysitting. Taxes will be filed, but...?

One of my friends fired her adult sitter of 4 years and asked my daughter to sit for her. She is making $150 a week over the summer, with a few weeks off for vacations. My friend did not claim the deduction over the past 4 years because her sitter refused to claim it as income (illegal and under the table, I know). My friend is willing to keep it under the table with my 15 YO, but if she can claim some of it ~ that would be great for her.

My question is how much does my daughter have to make before having to pay taxes. She purchases craft items, takes them bowling and to the movies... Does that count towards expenditures. Do you have to have a business license to do that? She will make appx. $1200 this summer.

We will claim her on our taxes as a dependent. If I can help my friend out by reducing her taxable income, I will.

I just don't know what to do.

  • My son in law hasn't filed taxes since 2000, and claims 9?

My stepdaughter married him in September of 2007. She sat down last night and figured filing married joint that they'd owe $1,100. If she files married separate she'll get a little over $900 back.

She thought her husband hasn't filed in 2 or 3 years, but found out last night he hasn't filed since 2000. He also has been claiming 9 since then, and has only one son, whom he is the sole parent of. We know he will owe out the nose and she is sick to her stomach thinking about him in Federal Prison for tax evasion.

Should she just continue to file married seaparate to cover her butt?

It is a bigger penalty, but at least she'll have peace of mind knowing she's done her taxes. She has worked hard building her savings account since she was 15 (she's 23 now) and wanted to use her money for a down payment on a home and not paying taxes off for her new husband.

  • Is there a Harley Davidson in the Netherlands?

My neighbor is leaving this Sat. to go to the Netherlands. She said she is landing in Germany, doing a little sightseeing, then off to her husbands meeting. I want to give her some money to get some t-shirts for Christmas gifts. Do you know where there are some HD Dealers? Is this a big imposition to ask for?

    Thanks

  • What happens to a federal firefighter that masterbated at work to computer porn and gets caught?

My husband's co-worker was caught masterbating at work (at a naval base) on the computer in the "common area" at just past midnight. Everyone is very angry that he did not do his "business" in his own private room and even more irate that he was using the computer to view the porn in the day room, where they all watch tv, visit with family and what not...

What can happen to him? Can he lose his job (this is what we are all hoping for) or will he just get a slap on the wrist? Last year they all had to sign paperwork after an internet training class regarding what they could and could not view on the internet (porn being a big no-no)

The computer tower has been taken to a place in the region for investigation on the history (they all have badges they insert in the keyboard to sign on to the computer) and everyone is asking for a new computer and chair.

If he doesn't lose his job, or get transferred, what can you come up with to make his life miserable for a few weeks?

  • My husband's ex wife uses my stepdaughters cell. Should I charge her? How?

My stepdaughter got one of those "prepaid" cells for Christmas of 2005. Her mom was the big hero for getting her a cell that year. In the first month my stepdaughter put over $60 in the account and ate the minutes up quickly. Her mom refused to add to it for her.

My husband and I thought that was crazy, so we added her to our plan for $10 and she has been great about using only her alloted minutes. We found out that when they went on their family vacation this past spring break that her stepdad gave her cell number to his out of state family and they used the phone the entire vacation. When I received the bill, I scrutinized it and found that the ex had used over 140 minutes in one month. I started looking back through January and find she uses the phone a lot. When she takes it away from my Stepdaughter for restrictions, she uses it.

  • My husband's laptop keeps redirecting him to other websites...?

Does anyone know how to remedy this? We ran Norton (I know it sucks) and the virus program from our local isp, but they are not recognizing any problems. Is it spyware, adware or something else?? The pages he is redirected to are different with each search, not one specific page. Any inexpensive ideas are appreciated.

    Thank you!!!
