Can I file on my Parent's Plus Loan?
My parent's took out a PLUS loan for me my Freshman year of college. I have been making the payments on this loan for the last 3 years. Since the loan is in my dad's name, I never filed the interest it during tax season. Should I have been filing it under my name because I'm making the payments? I have paid well over $4000 in interest over the last few years and want to make sure that I am filing correctly.
Thanks!
3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoShould I accept my old job back?
Over six months ago, I was laid off by a company I had worked at for 2 1/2 years. I started on entry level in a new department. I, along with 3 others, developed the policies and processes that this department would follow. Over the course of a year and a half, I trained five people for this position as well as wrote and developed a comprehensive training manual. After a year and a half, I was promoted to a different department and one of the people I trained became a lead in my old department (basically Asst. Manager). I trained my replacement and moved onto my new position, which I was in for 10 months before I got laid off. I got an email last night from the lead saying that my replacement was leaving and if I wanted my old job back, she would recommend me. I loved working for the company and am still looking for permanent work. I am working temp. positions at the moment. If I were to go back, I would be taking a $6/hr pay cut as well as be working under a person that I trained. On top of that, I would not be gaining any skills because I have done this job before. On the other hand, it would be a permanent position. Thoughts??
