So I've been really wondering why we create our money through borrowing rather than just creating it out of thin air. Since we use fiat currency there doesn't seem to be a reason to use currency that's based on debt which accrues interest. What exactly would be the down side with the government printing debt free currency as opposed to them borrowing currency from private banks that can lend at any amount of money with fractional reserve? Are we just worried about government printing too much money? Because if that's the case they can borrow as much money as they want right now, so why would we want to allow the borrowing with future interest when we can just print money and at least have no debt to repay? I mean the concept of a national debt makes literally no sense to me with a fiat currency. Is there something I'm missing here?

Which candidate will take steps toward solving that problem and what specifically will he do?

i have to make a program that writes data from a temperature sensor to an access database along with the user information, date and time. i need to know how to take data from a label/textbox/listbox and input it into an access database.
